OPC has introduced the living wage for 21/22 season
Minimum Starting rate $22.75/hour

Applications Now Invited: MUSSEL OPENERS

- Starting rate $22.75/hour
- Current contract mussel openers consistently being paid from
$25-$40/hour
-10 month season with breakfast provided
- Dayshift processing 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday

Applications Now Invited: HYGIENE ASSISTANTS

- Starting rate $23.50/hour, fully trained rate $27.50/hour
- 10 month season with food provided daily
- Afternoon shift times 3.30pm to approx 10pm, Monday to Friday

WINZ requirements for entitlement to Job Seeker Support.

Seminar Thursday 10th August 10.30am to 2pm, need to book in by contacting call centre 0800 559 009.
To prevent people requiring coming to Thames twice they can do the following:-
Apply for assistance online before Thursday ( if unable to do this at home we are able to help at seminar on the day.
At seminar must provide the following:-
- one form of primary identification such as driver license, birth certificate or passport.
- two forms of supporting identification such as household account, government issued documents, employment related documents, bank documents or health/education documents.
- Bank account details
- Wage verification for the past 26 or 52 weeks
- Children's birth certificate
- accomodation verification
- hire purchase agreements
- CV

CALLING VOLUNTEER KAURI TREE PLANTERS
Would you like to join in & plant trees with KAURI 2000?
PLANTING DAY 07 JUNE 2014
At Matarangi reserve ( just out of Kuaotunu). Planting should take around 3-4 hours (the more people the less time it will take).
You will be rewarded with a sausage sizzle and cold beer afterwards. Mediums level of fitness required.
KAURI 2000 IS A CHARITABLE TRUST THAT AIMS TO RECREATE THE KAURI FOREST THAT ONCE WAS ONT HE PENINSULA. CONTACT SANDRA AT OPC.

The Aquaculture Bowling Tournament.

A great day was had by all with both OPC teams winning their game. They were up against 9 other teams. The competition was fierce with The Mussel Kitchen winning this years tournament.

Saturday 26th April 2014 14 keen OPC'ers entered the Bush to Beach walk/run held at Otama Beach. Fundraising for Kuaotunu Search & Rescue. Congratulations to Alan Buchanan, Kathy Ransfield, Coral Stirling, Chris Wild, Jade Topia, Jennifer Muir, Joe Anderson, Patricia Brass, Luke Wooton, Oceane Darnon who all completed the 7km walk. With Sara Daniel, Bruce Spencer, Virginia O'Sullivan and Sandra Trenouth all completing the 11km walk. We stayed for a snack afterwards with Kathy Ransfield winning a spot prize of a New World box of goodies. Next year we are talking about getting t-shirts printed - we welcome suggestions for our team name.
