Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) recently launched the Isnad Oman Youth Volunteering Initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The initiative, which was supported by Renaissance, brought together 60 young changemakers from SQU, equipping them with the skills and practical experience to turn compassion into action and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Through a series of specialised camps, the students supported senior citizens and children in care. The Anees Camp focused on reducing loneliness and social isolation among senior citizens while strengthening intergenerational connections. The Amal Camp promoted the emotional and psychological wellbeing of children living in care centres. The enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteers reflected the positive role that young people can play in society.

أطلقت جامعة السلطان قابوس مؤخراً مبادرة (إسناد عُمان) للتطوع الشبابي بالتعاون مع وزارة الثقافة والرياضة والشباب.
واستقطبت هذه المبادرة، المدعومةً من قِبل النهضة، 60 فرداً من الشباب المُلهمين من جامعة السلطان قابوس، لتسهم في تزويدهم بالمهارات اللازمة والخبرة العملية لتحويل شغفهم بالتطوع إلى أثرٍ فاعل وتغيير ملموس في المجتمع.
ومن خلال سلسلة من المعسكرات المتخصصة قدم الطلاب دعمهم لكبار السن والأطفال المقيمين في دور الرعاية. حيث ركز معسكر أنيس على تقليل الشعور بالوحدة والعزلة الاجتماعية لدى كبار السن وتعزيز أواصر التواصل بين الأجيال. كما سعى معسكر أمل إلى تعزيز الصحة النفسية والعاطفية للأطفال المقيمين بمراكز الرعاية. ويعكس حماس المتطوعين والتزامهم أهمية الدور الإيجابي الذي يقوم به الشباب في المجتمع.
