A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Kenneth Goldblum founded Family Eye Care and Childrens Eye Center of New Mexico more than 40 years ago. He is a well-known and respected ophthalmologist in the Albuquerque area, having been in the same location since opening for business back in 1971. Dr. Goldblum currently holds multiple staff positions at local medical centers in Albuquerque, including Lovelace Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, and University of New Mexico Hospital. He also volunteers as a clinical assistant professor at the University of New Mexico Medical School. In his own words... Ive been practicing ophthalmology in Albuquerque since 1971, and Ive had the privilege of taking care of many families helping to restore eyesight and prevent blindness. In return, my patients referred their friends and relatives to my care, building my practice the best way. I take great pride in spending the necessary time with each patient. I enjoy listening to what they have to say and evaluating their eyes with state-of-the-art equipment because I want to give my patients the most up-to-date care. Although my many years in practice have gone by all too quickly, I still plan to work 3 full days a week and will give the same personal care my patients have come to expect from me. My first interest is my patients, but once Im not at the office, I love to read. My knees are giving out on me, so Ive quit running marathons, but now I enjoy hiking with my dogs and swimming in fact, almost anything that gets me outside. I also enjoy traveling and exploring all the good food options wherever we go.

My name is Jimmy Goldblum and I’m an Emmy Award-winning Director & Producer based in Altadena, CA. I’m proud to have setup and directed on some of the world’s most visually ambitious and emotionally resonant documentary series.
My short documentary, “A Broken House,” was shortlisted for the 2022 Academy Awards for “Best Documentary Short.” It also won the International Documentary Association (IDA) Award for “Best Short” and was nominated by Cinema Eyes for “Best Non-Fiction Short.” It premiered at Hot Docs, won both the “Bridging the Border” prize and “Audience Award for Best Documentary” at Palm Springs Shorts Fest, and “Best Documentary Short” at Academy-qualifying film festivals, River Run, Salem, SCAD Savannah Film Festival, among others.
I set the tonal and visual aesthetic and directed the pilot of "Unsolved Mysteries," the reimagining of the 80s cult series; produced by 21 Laps ("Stranger Things"), "Unsolved" spent its first 10 days on Netflix as the most watched series in the world. My episode also became a source of highly disturbing memes and was honored for melding the past and future of the series
I also setup the series and directed an episode of the Apple+ / A24 series, “HOME;” and I direct episodes of the critically acclaimed documentary series, “Chef’s Table” for Netflix (IDA Winner - “Best Documentary Series”).
Previously, I directed and produced Tomorrow We Disappear, a feature documentary about India’s last colony of magicians, acrobats, and puppeteers. It premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival, and IndieWire listed it as one of the “20 Best Documentaries of 2014.”
My interactive documentary for the Pulitzer Center, “Live Hope Love,” a poetic exploration of the HIV crisis in the Caribbean, won an Emmy for “New Approaches to Documentary” and a Webby for “Best Art Website.” Some other things:
I've directed commercials and branded documentaries for clients including Google, DoorDash, Budweiser, Nature's Variety, BNY Mellon, and more. I am a principal in the film + interactive studio, Old Friend.
This is me and my dog Baba Ji. He’s a special angel dog.

As the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel consolidates several of its major areas, it has tapped a science veteran of almost 30 years to ensure it is ready to meet the needs of its federal military and research customers.
“We need to make sure we strategically invest program development funds to best support our customers,” said Charles Goldblum, who was recently named business area executive for the lab’s new department.
The Research and Exploratory Development Department was created this fall to develop and nurture new technologies to meet emerging national challenges.
