P&W Limited Founded as a passion project by my partner and me, P&W Limited represents the culmination of 30 years of combined industry experience.

We are a locally owned business specializing in architectural design, technical drafting services, quantity surveying, construction cost and value management, project management, and contracts management. My partner brings 19 years of expertise in Architectural and Industrial Design, Project Management, Property Evaluation, and Development Projects. I contribute 11 years of professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Procurement Management, Construction Cost and Value Management, and Contract Administration. Together, we offer a robust blend of skills and dedication to excellence. Our mission is to foster collaborative partnerships among local businesses in the construction and infrastructure sectors. By working together, we aim to deliver high-quality projects that exceed client expectations while staying on schedule. Additionally, we are committed to enhancing industry standards by creating on-site training opportunities focused on Project Quality Management and Compliance practices. Despite being a new business entity, our attention to detail and technical expertise sets us apart, and we look forward to shaping a sustainable and successful future in the construction industry. When Good Faith Meets Intellectual Property

In the construction and design industry, it's common for consultants to provide concept drawings, layouts, or preliminary designs to help clients obtain funding, seek approvals, or demonstrate the vision of a proposed project.

As designers, we often do this in good faith because we believe in helping communities, churches, and organisations move their projects forward.
However, it's important to remember that architectural drawings and 3D concepts are intellectual property. They represent countless hours of planning, technical expertise, creativity, and professional judgment.

Providing drawings for pricing, budgeting, fundraising, or funding applications does not automatically transfer ownership of the design. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the creator of the design generally retains the intellectual property rights, while the client is granted permission to use the drawings for their intended purpose.

Respecting intellectual property isn't just about legal rights—it's about recognising the value of professional work and maintaining trust within our industry.

As professionals, we should strive to:
~ Acknowledge the original designer's contribution.
~ Seek permission before reproducing or modifying design work.
~ Give credit where it is due.
~ Build a culture of integrity and collaboration.

The construction industry is built on relationships. Protecting intellectual property ensures that innovation, creativity, and professionalism continue to thrive while preserving the trust between clients, consultants, and contractors.
