These 5 Leadership failures occured 2000 years ago are still destroying nations in our time. These are Pontius Pilates Leadership style found in Mathew 27.

1. Failure of Courage — Knowing the truth but refusing to act

Leaders who see corruption, injustice, or wrongdoing but stay silent because they fear backlash, losing position, or upsetting people.

Truth without courage is useless.

2. Failure of Responsibility — Washing hands instead of owning decisions

Leaders who blame others, hide behind committees, or avoid accountability when things go wrong.

Leadership is responsibility, not convenience.

3. Failure of Integrity — Authority without moral backbone

Leaders who compromise values, bend rules, or use authority for personal gain instead of national good.

Power without integrity becomes dangerous.

4. Failure of Independence — Being controlled by the crowd

Leaders controlled by public opinion, political groups, sponsors, financiers, wantoks, or influential voices instead of principles.

When the crowd becomes your compass, you will crucify the country and people.

5. Failure of Purpose — Wasting the authority God entrusted

Leaders who waste opportunities to build, reform, correct, or protect because they choose comfort over calling.

Authority is a stewardship, not a shield.

PNG does not need perfect leaders — it needs courageous, responsible, integrity-driven, principled, and purposeful leaders who refuse to repeat Pilate’s failures.

The destiny of a nation rises or falls on the courage of its leaders.
