A Voice So Unique
For the past five years, I have sat behind the walls of the National Parliament Chambers and listened to the many voices that represent our people. Among them all, there was one Voice that stood apart — a Voice so patriotic, so passionate, so inclusive, so Uniting, so deeply knowledgeable, and so sincere — born from the real struggles and experiences of our everyday people.
It was a Voice that did not need a chorus to be heard. One Voice was enough to move hearts, to shift minds, change decions and to remind us of what true leadership sounds like — leadership anchored in love for country and loyalty to people.
Thank you, God. And thank you, Morobe, for returning to our nation a Voice of the voiceless — a Voice that gave us a glimpse of what it truly means to serve with courage, conviction, and truth. And though that Voice has fallen silent on the eve of our nation’s 50th Independence Anniversary, its echo will live on in the conscience of Papua New Guineans.
Dear Lord, as we bid farewell to this Great Son of our land, the late Hon. Luther Wenge, may You bless this nation with more Voices like his — louder, stronger, more uniting, and ever true to the dreams of our forefathers.
Rest well, Songan. Your Voice will forever remain a beacon in our country’s journey.
