An awesome first day today Monday 15th August, at the PNG Investment Conference in Brisbane. All the speakers today were fantastic (as an MC, I missed out taking photos of all Speakers but BAI will have them up soon).
A lot of key take aways today but today’s discussions confirms the state of the economy, PNG’s investment climate, reason for high inflation, importance of monetary policies. Information on developing the resource sector and non resource sector , mining , gas and petroleum outlook plus large scale developments, state-owned enterprises, business with China and having successful business strategy, and much more.
Yes PNG does have a challenging business environment but the opportunities are there and with the right government policies, public & private partnerships, collaboration, advocacy, initiatives, etc, there will be an increase in business activities, development and investment in PNG.

Our Pom Chamber has partnered with BLP and created a specialised, value-added, dedicated service to businesses, facilitating the development of referral pathways between start-ups, SMEs and business service providers. As per article published by BLP back in August 2021, our former CEO Stacey O'Nea explained that by building expertise to provide the required services for the Chamber’s membership, a successful ecosystem is established.
