Keai Sarufa – Success Story
Keai Sarufa joined ProPest in 2022 as a Field Technician. From the outset, he was inspired by the professionalism of both supervisors and colleagues, which motivated him to grow and pursue a long-term career with the company.
Over the past four years, Keai has developed significantly both professionally and personally. Through hands-on experience and continuous learning, he has strengthened his communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. These improvements have enabled him to work more efficiently and adapt confidently to different environments.
His growth has been further supported by key training opportunities, including the Protrain Industrial Pest Management Training in Brisbane (November 2023) and online refresher training with Keith Farrow. These experiences enhanced his technical knowledge and built his confidence in handling more complex field tasks.
A major milestone in Keai’s journey was being entrusted with independent responsibilities. Successfully managing these tasks demonstrated his capability and boosted his confidence to perform at a higher level.
One of his most recent achievements is obtaining his driver’s licence through the company’s staff development program. This milestone reflects both his personal dedication and the company’s commitment to employee growth.
Keai has consistently delivered high-quality service, earning the trust of both clients and his team. His commitment to maintaining high standards continues to contribute to the company’s strong reputation and customer satisfaction.
One of his most notable experiences has been working on the quarterly pest treatment at the New Porgera Mine Site. This large-scale project requires careful planning, strong time management, and attention to detail. It has further strengthened his technical skills, adaptability, and ability to perform under pressure something he takes great pride in.
Like any professional, Keai has faced challenges, including managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing site conditions. He overcomes these by staying organised, prioritising effectively, and remaining flexible. These experiences have taught him the importance of patience, preparation, and adaptability.
