This is what Papua New Guinea should have done. I don't know what's going on with NICTA and DICT but for sure, some things are fishy here.

By looking at the cost of Internet connectivity with STARLINK, its more affordable for any ordinary PNG Citizens with given the current economy condition or beyond.

If PNG Government were looking more closely in favor of people, they should allow NICTA to operate in PNG. Knowing that when there is more competitors in this sector, it will automatically have influence over the price.

I hope in every decision make and amend, it's always in favor of people rather their own personal interests.

The DICT has unveiled a new partnership involving Globe and Starlink that will allow ordinary LTE mobile phones in the Philippines to access calls, text, and mobile data even without cell towers, using Starlink’s more than 650 low-earth orbit satellites.

It's amazing to see how technology is revoluionizing to a stage where humans can just give commands to AI in everyday lifestyle and robots and AI will accomplish as adviced. On the other hand, it's scary too.

Tesla is working toward a future where drivers can control their vehicles almost entirely through voice commands. According to Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s VP of AI, upcoming vehicles are expected to feature fully integrated voice control capable of handling tasks such as navigation, driving preferences, and parking. The goal is to make interaction with the car more natural and conversational, reducing the need for manual inputs on the touchscreen. The idea reflects Tesla’s broader push toward software-driven experiences inside the vehicle, combining AI, automation, and natural language interaction.

Successful Week of Solo Tech Support at PGV INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY! 📢📢📢📢

Over the past week, I've been busy helping students and professionals upgrade their devices to boost productivity and efficiency! I successfully upgraded and optimized devices for:
- A 2nd-year UPNG student to Windows 11 with MS Office 2016, and fully programmed it.
- A teacher with Windows 11 updates and MS Office installation
- Two UOG students and a Grade 12 student with Windows 11 and MS Office upgrades
- A desktop computer got a 32bit Operating system so I did Upgrade to 64bit OS (Windows 11 wasn't compatible, but I made it run smoothly)

Huge thanks to all for trusting me with their tech needs! Even though I haven't been paid for the services I provided, I did my part to serve humanity. They needed help so I had to help where I can.

It's worth a try. We're living in the digital era now, and it's high time we transitioned some of those manual processes to more digital solutions. The way to go is definitely digital, and kudos to the Department of Information and Communication Technology for pushing this agenda forward. Let's keep embracing technology and making our lives easier and more efficient. Way to go, PNG Department of Information and Communications Technology

DICT, Electoral Commission Discuss SevisWallet Use Case for Common Roll Enrollment

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) met with the PNG Electoral Commission last Friday to discuss how the newly launched SevisWallet App could support the country’s electoral processes, particularly Common Roll Enrollment.

The meeting followed the app’s public debut at the Digital Transformation Summit 2025 in Port Moresby last year.

DICT, led by Secretary Mr. Steven Matainaho, was keen to explore how the Electoral Commission could anchor a practical use case on the SevisWallet platform to enhance voter registration systems.

Secretary Matainaho said the two teams are assessing how SevisWallet could be used to host Common Roll Enrollment and potentially support a Digital Voter ID.

“We are discussing options for use of the SevisWallet App to host Common Roll Enrollment, and hosting of a possible Digital Voter ID,” Secretary Steven Matainaho stated.

The Electoral Commission team, headed by Acting Electoral Commissioner Ms. Margaret Vagi, expressed optimism about the new Digital Public Infrastructure and how both entities can collaborate moving forward.

Secretary Matainaho added that further updates will be provided as both teams continue refining the proposed digital integration in the coming weeks.

AI's Dark Side👹: Are We Ready?

AI's rapid growth is raising concerns about its impact on humanity. Cyber attacks are becoming more sophisticated, with AI-driven malware and hacking threats escalating. The International AI Safety Report highlights the risks of general-purpose AI systems evolving faster than our safeguards.

We're facing potential threats like:
- AI-driven cyber warfare
- Misinformation campaigns
- Identity theft
- Economic disruption
- Government destabilization

Agentic AI systems can act autonomously, making decisions at speeds we can't match. To mitigate these risks, we need:
- Global cooperation
- Strighter regulations
- Transparency from tech companies

The future's uncertain, and we must balance AI's benefits with safety measures.

🌍How China Is Quietly Taking the Lead in Technology💡🇨🇳

I just watched this really interesting video about howChina is becoming a major player in global tech— and honestly, it’s fascinating.

The video explains how apps and platforms we all know — likeTikTok, Temu, and others— didn’t just get popular by chance. They’re part of along-term planwhere China is investing heavily inAI, digital platforms, electric vehicles, drones, and renewable energy.

What really caught my attention is how China has shifted from justmanufacturing for the worldto nowinnovating and competing at the highest tech level. Even with global restrictions and challenges, Chinese companies keep adapting and pushing forward.

This video does a great job of showingwhy this mattersand what it could mean for the future of technology and global competition.

What is SevisPass?

We’ve listened to your feedback and the many questions asking: “What exactly is SevisPass?” To make it simple, here’s the clearest definition yet.

SevisPass is your SECURE, Government‑recognized digital identity , now available on Google Play. It is housed safely inside the SevisWallet App on your mobile phone.

Think of it like carrying your passport or driver’s license in your wallet, but in digital form and in your phone securely and can accessed whenever you need it. SevisPass does not replace your foundational IDs such as NID, Passport, or Driver’s License. Instead, it builds on them, bringing their capabilities online as a verifiable credential to strengthen security and improve efficiency.

Unlike a physical card that can be lost, stolen, or forged, SevisPass is protected by your face and only works when you’re holding your phone. That means your identity stays safe, private, and under your control.

Your Digital Identity, Your Control
