GENERATOR MECHANIC TO START IMMEDIATELY
Lohberger Engineering Limited is a leading engineering and industrial supply and service firm operating in Papua New Guinea for over 50 years. We specialise in the design, supply and maintenance of back-up generator power systems. We currently have an immediate vacancy for a Generator Technician to start based in Port Moresby.
Responsibilities for this role include:
• Respond to service calls and assignments for generator systems focusing on the mechanical and electrical aspects of engine / generator package
• Analyze malfunctions visually, auditory or through the use of test equipment.
• Carry out on-site repairs, shutdown procedures, generator transfer, load checks, load bank testing, and transfer switch checks
• Demonstrate exemplary ability to troubleshoot and repair burnt-out wiring and generator hardware including radiators, oil coolers, and other engine components to ensure its good running condition
• Fix generators of all makes and models using manufacturer-provided diagnostic software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, inter-connection wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment and order parts as needed.
• Execute oil and filter changes and coolant flush and refills
• Deliver quarterly, annual, bi-annual, inspections on numerous makes and models of stand-by emergency generators in residential, commercial and industrial premises.
• Promote the highest possible degree of quality, safety, customer satisfaction and teamwork
Your skillset should include:
• Training qualifications and certificate for working on diesel engines
• Previous experience working with portable generating equipment including paralleling and electrical synchronisation
• Highly skilled in servicing, maintenance and repair of diesel engines of various types and sizes
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and the ability to provide workable solutions
• Computer skills (Microsoft office) and user knowledge of most industry diagnostic software
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• The ability to communicate both in person and remotely with the internal team as well as customers
• Valid drivers license
