We were most privileged to accompany our ClimateLaunchpad PNG National Champion and E-Space member, Kevin Rau of 501 Blue Impact, to the Climate Innovation Summit in Singapore this week!

Kevin passionately presented his innovative and sustainable business idea: transforming plastic waste into PVC cards - turning an environmental challenge into an opportunity for impact.
For us at E-Space, it is always a privilege to bridge the exposure gap for local entrepreneurs by connecting them to platforms that amplify their ideas, expand their networks, and open doors to new opportunities. This week was packed with investor networking sessions, meaningful engagements with fellow Pacific startups, and connections with innovators and entrepreneurs from across the globe.

We are also pleased that ClimateLaunchpad, through the support of Irish Aid, will continue supporting the Pacific, building on the region's strong participation and our continued efforts to bring forward some of the most promising green business innovations.
An exciting milestone for Kevin and the other two Pacific champions to receive €1,000 in startup capital to help bring their ideas to life.

For Kevin, this is an important step towards launching 501 Blue Impact and turning his vision for plastic waste transformation into a tangible, sustainable business.

We believe local entrepreneurs deserve more than just an opportunity to dream - they deserve the platforms, connections, and support to make those dreams a reality.

We’re incredibly proud of Shannon Pondriliki, our Manager, for being selected to mentor start-ups at the Climate Innovation Summit in Singapore this week!

Throughout her 8 years with E-Space, Shannon has spent three-quarters of that time leading our projects, including our entrepreneurship programs, empowering aspiring entrepreneurs and helping turn innovative ideas into meaningful opportunities.

It gives us great joy to watch the progress of all who pass through our doors, and most especially those who approach us unsure of where to go next, but leave with greater clarity, confidence and a path to pursue.

This is the story of the PNG Climate Change & Farmers Institute, an organisation with farmers at its heart.

Founder Samuel Merenge first became associated with us through his participation in an entrepreneurship program we run annually. After his participation, he developed a concrete plan for the organisation and has since taken the important step of putting that plan into action, beginning a pilot project with farmers in Central Province.

There is a lot more up their sleeves, and we were especially proud to see them hold their first Meet and Greet at the Hub yesterday.

What they are working towards is important. The PNG Climate Change & Farmers Institute is helping farmers become more aware of their rights, understand the importance of conducting themselves as a business, and move beyond seeing farming as a one-off activity towards building something that can be sustained and grown.

At E-Space, this is the kind of progress we love to see.

Entrepreneurship support is not only about helping someone develop an idea. It is about helping them find clarity, develop a plan and, most importantly, take that plan into the real world.
Samuel came through our doors with a vision. Today, that vision is beginning to take shape through practical work with farmers.

We are proud of the journey so far and remain supportive of the work of the PNG Climate Change & Farmers Institute as they continue building towards stronger, more sustainable farming businesses and opportunities for farmers in Papua New Guinea.

Today we revived the Memorandum of Understanding between our organization, Emstret Space and the SME Corporation.

Thank you to the technical working team from both parties who worked tirelessly to put this together for our people.

The Managing Director - SME Corporation, Mr. Ralda, the esteemed staff of the SME Corporation, the Media houses, ladies and gentlemen.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule and today’s program to witness this auspicious occasion, the official signing ceremony of the MOU between our 2 organizations, SME Corporation and Emstret Space.

I take this opportunity to pass on our CEO, Vani Nades’ apologies on her absence today. Yet, in true Vani K Nades fashion, the reign is being passed on to the team to carry on the good work that our organization does.

My name is Shannon Pondriliki, I represent Emstret Space, PNG’s first coworking space, locally owned and focused on fostering and growing national entrepreneurship goals and enterprises.

In 2019, this MoU was first signed between SME Corporation and Emstret Space, and today’s renewal of that agreement is a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to empower Papua New Guinean entrepreneurs and strengthen the backbone of our economy, the MSMEs.

Emstret Space, was founded on the belief that national content must be driven by local hands. We exist to nurture entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation not in isolation, but in collaboration with government agencies like SME Corporation, who serve as the agents of national development in this space.

Emstret Space stands ready to complement and amplify that mission to be the bridge between policy and practice.
I will end by saying, this collaboration is not just about programs; it’s about people.

This is what the Business & Professional Women’s Club of Port Moresby, through its Women in Business Club, in partnership with E-Space facilitators, is bringing to the table for Papua New Guinean-owned and women-led enterprises.

From 23–25 September, selected participants in the BPW Women in Business Startup Pitch Competition are taking part in an intensive Pitch Bootcamp, building one of the most powerful skills an entrepreneur can have: the ability to confidently and effectively pitch their business.

Pitching is more than standing in front of a room and talking about your business. It is about understanding your business deeply enough to communicate the problem you are solving, your market, your value proposition, your growth potential and the opportunity you are presenting.

Yet these skills can be expensive to access.

We believe access should not be the barrier to ambition.

Through this initiative, BPW Women in Business and E-Space are creating access to practical business development support that strengthens the capability, confidence and enterprise of women entrepreneurs.

We are investing in women who are building businesses, creating opportunities and contributing to the growth of our local economy.

This is more than a competition. It is about building capability, confidence and enterprise.
