About Us:
At Rouna Fresh, our journey started in 2019 when we began supporting subsistence farmers in Papua New Guinea by supplying seeds and buying back their crops. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked closely with farmers in the Sogeri region, providing essential resources and helping deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to corporate clients like PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). This experience
opened our eyes to the struggles faced by subsistence farmers, from limited market access to the challenges of improving farming practices. In response to these challenges, we have refocused our efforts to work even more closely with local farmers, aiming to create lasting improvements in farming techniques, income flow, and market access. Rouna Fresh is now focused on building an ecosystem that supports farmers not only with better practices but also by helping them grow their income through stable, sustainable sales channels and contribute to the overall economic growth of the region. Key Areas of Focus:
• Farmer Support & Education: Training in modern farming techniques, crop management, and sustainability to boost yields and quality.
• Market Access & Income Growth: Connecting farmers to fair-priced local, regional, and corporate markets.
• Building a Farmer Ecosystem: Creating cooperatives to enhance resource sharing, collective strength, and economic growth.
• Expansion & Sustainability: Growing our network to include farmers in Central and Gulf Provinces for long-term impact. Through this holistic approach, Rouna Fresh aims to be a reliable partner in transforming the agricultural landscape for subsistence farmers, creating a pathway to prosperity for local communities and contributing to the growth of Papua New Guinea’s economy.
