Door lock failure is very common in automatic washing machines. It can prevent the door from opening after a cycle, or stop the machine from starting if it fails to register that the door is securely closed.

Common Causes for Door Lock Problems

✅Delayed Release: Many front-load washers have a thermal time-delay lock that requires 1 to 3 minutes to cool down and release after a cycle finishes.
✅Trapped Water or Pressure Error: If water fails to drain or the pressure switch malfunctions, the machine keeps the door locked as a safety precaution.
