Results are what happen when we do the steps to achieve our goals. Once we have set our goals, then we have to go for it. Doing it is our performance. Focus on that and the results will take care of itself.
However, our performance is dependent on our skills. On how well we do what we are supposed to do. When we do it well, our performance improves. When our performance improves, our results improve.
For example, if our goal is to sell 100 units of our product in one week, that's 20 units per day, then we have to make sure we have enough prospects to talk to per day who are able to buy 20 units of our products daily. The skills needed to perform the tasks are: influencing skills, connecting skills, collaborating skills, proposing skills, getting agreement skills. When we do those skills well, we perform well. When we do them poorly, we perform poorly. The result of course is the reflection of our performance.
So, the secret is to become more aware of what selling skills we need to do well and how to perform those skills better.
When we focus on practicing our selling skills better, we perform better. When we perform better we get the best sales results.
