A Door Opens Again: Kanlungan Children’s Center Finds Its Way Home
After last opening its doors in 2020, before the pandemic brought everyday routines to a halt, the Kanlungan Children’s Center is once again welcoming the children of BHF employees.
An orientation was held on October 3, introducing parents and employees to the center’s policies, services, admission requirements, and safety guidelines. On October 5, Kanlungan officially resumed operations, marking the return of a program created to help employees balance their responsibilities at work and at home.
The center provides a safe, supervised, and child-friendly environment for children aged 2.5 to 12 years old, with an initial capacity of approximately 10 to 15 children at a time. Basic services are provided free of charge to eligible regular employees, while optional tutoring services are available for children who need additional academic support.
Kanlungan operates Mondays to Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Its services include supervised care, learning activities, homework assistance, and age-appropriate activities that support children’s development and well-being.
The reopening also brings back a familiar support system for working parents. With their children cared for in a safe environment, employees can focus on their work while having greater peace of mind about their families.
More than five years after it last opened in 2020, Kanlungan’s return marks more than the reopening of a facility. It is the renewal of BHF’s commitment to supporting its employees and their families.
A door opens again, and with it comes a familiar promise: a place where children are cared for, parents are supported, and BHF continues to go beyond.
