ENTERPRISE OWNER ORGANIZATION:
Linabu Agrarian Multipurpose Cooperative (LAMPCO)
PRODUCT:
Coco Sugar “The Smart Way to be Healthy.”
Product Background:
Coconut Sugar is an all-natural sweetener made from sweet toddy sap harvested from cut flower buds of organically grown coconut trees. The sugar does not undergo a refining process; therefore, it is free from bleaches and stabilizers that are
potentially toxic chemicals. Health Benefits:
The best thing about Coco Sugar is it is healthier and safer for diabetic people because it has LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX (GI=35). It has lesser than cane sugar’s high glycemic index of 55 as per the Philippine Food and Nutrition Research Institute, which means that there will be a slow release of glucose into the bloodstream. Low glycemic index food is known to help balance and control health conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity. Since coco sugar only has 35 to 54 GI serving, it is best for reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, gallbladder disease, and coronary heart disease. Product description:
