The EL Amigo Media Solutions nom de guerre was coined from the nickname of the founder himself (El Amigo) and at the same time from the initials of senior managing partner Eugenio Labadan (EL). As news reporter El Amigo covered the historic inaugural rites of then in-coming President Joseph Estrada way back 1998 in Malolos, Bulacan for the Sunstar News/Publications Network. El Amigo also covered most-coveted news beats such as Bureau of Immigration, Justice Dept., Congress, Senate of the Philippines to name a few. He also represented National Sports Teams in soccer (1st ASEAN Tiger Cup/Singapore) and sepak takraw (13th Thai King's Cup/Thailand) as pool reporter for the Philippine Sports Commission and national dailies. El Amigo also helped several prominent public officials (names withheld) handily beat their opponents with brilliant political inputs and proper media management. Eugene is a veteran public relations assistant of Philippine Airlines for almost three decades (1979-2007) under the tutelage of great public relations personalities such as – Domingo “Ka Doming” Abadilla, Enrique “Ka Iking” Santos and Rolando “Ka Rollie” Estabillo. From 2008 to 2010, this tandem is the Media Partner in a crisis management consultancy group whose expertise are public relations, crisis management, marketing communications, political strategy,
corporate social advocacy and government lobby. They had been involved with neutralizing negative media and co-managing the media campaign in support for various programs of the Bureau of Immigration. They also co-managed media operations to counteract the negative publicity generated by the local provincial executive’s opposition to Oceana Gold’s Didipio mining project in Nueva Vizcaya. Their other media relations work for the firm included providing media management support to critical communication requirements for the Office of the Press Secretary of the President of the Philippines; neutralizing negative media and helped manage an integrated marketing communications and promotion program for the SBMA; co-managed the preparation of a media and
constituency communication program for the Mindanao Peace process and neutralized negative media; co-managed a media campaign in support of MMDA’s various programs; assisted in
