Strengthening partnerships for cooperative growth and inclusive development

On March 24, 2026, at the PCLEDO Conference Hall, Capitol Complex, Batangas City, the Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc. (PCCI), Cooperative Union of Batangas (CUB), and the Provincial Livelihood, Enterprise and Cooperative Development Office (PCLEDO) formally sealed their commitment through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing.

Representing the partner institutions were Mr. Edwin A. Bustillos, Secretary General of PCCI; Dr. Angelito Bagui, Chairperson of CUB; and PCLEDO PGDH Mrs. Celia L. Atienza.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing policy advocacy, protecting cooperative autonomy, and promoting inclusive, sustainable development for the cooperative sector.

The oath-taking of the new set of officers of the Batangas Province Alay-Lakad Foundation, Inc. (BPALFI) was held on March 19, 2026, at Dream Zone, Capitol Compound, Batangas City, as part of the 2026 Provincial Women’s Month Celebration.

CUB serves as the Foundation’s Auditor, with Chairperson Dr. Angelito Bagui as its authorized representative. He was represented during the ceremony by CUB Executive Officer Myra Ebora.

The Opening and Blessing of the Ibaan Market Vendors and Community MPC Event Center was successfully held on March 18, 2026, at Brgy. Talaibon, Ibaan, Batangas.

Appreciation to Mr. Dexter Perez, Senior CDS, for sharing his expertise and guiding participants in understanding the updated financial performance standards for cooperatives.

CUB, represented by Executive Officer, Mrs. Myra Ebora, joined the Lobo Municipal Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LOMEMPC) Annual General Assembly on March 7, 2026 at the Evacuation Center, Brgy. Poblacion, Lobo, Batangas. Mrs. Ebora served as Resource Person and shared insights on the power of being a cooperative member.

On February 13, 2026, the Ilasan Multi-Purpose Cooperative from the City of Tayabas, Quezon, in coordination with the Cooperative Union of Batangas (CUB), successfully conducted a benchmarking activity with two member-cooperatives of the Union — Tilambo Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Tilambo MPC) and Sabang Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Sabang MPC).

The benchmarking session aimed to learn and gain valuable insights from cooperatives engaged in water service operations. Through discussions, sharing of best practices, and site observations, the activity provided the participants with a deeper understanding of effective water service management, operational strategies, and sustainability practices implemented by the host cooperatives.

The initiative strengthened collaboration among cooperatives and reinforced their shared commitment to improving service delivery and overall service quality in the water services sector.
