The Visayas State University (VSU) Center for Continuing Education last August 4, 2026, conducted a Capacity Building Workshop on Writing Review Materials and Test Questions for Agriculturists Licensure Examination Review Program. This activity was participated in by 37 review masters and faculty members of the departments of Agricultural Economics and Marketing, Agricultural Extension and Communication, Animal Science, Crop Science, Crop Protection, and Soil Science.
Dr. Wences Rey Dela Peña, Head of the University Review Services Office, facilitated the session on compliance updates and guidelines where he shared the latest requirements as mandated by the Professional Regulation Commission. Dr. Zyra May H. Centino, Director of the Center for Continuing Education, gave the official opening remarks.
The morning session started with learning how to present their notes for review materials following professional document design standards. With the resource person Dr. Ulderico B. Alviola’s assistance, the group was able to come up with design specifications and layouts for their review materials. Following this, they began their work on test questions using the Table of Specifications (TOS) as a guide, with resource person Mr. Jose Celso Perez, Jr.’s help.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon session, Mr. Helmar Ycong facilitated the session on updating, aligning, and re-aligning the Table of Specifications for the Agriculturist licensure examination. Furthermore, the interaction between the professors and instructors during the conduct of the workshop added value to the activity.
Indeed, the conduct of the workshop produced significant outputs. At the end of the day, every department was able to submit their review materials/documents and test questions for the 2026 AgLE Review Program. Aside from that, the workshop also helped promote camaraderie and unity among the participating faculty members. The VSU 2026 AgLE Review Program will continue to deliver quality review materials and services to licensure examinees who wish to take the Agriculturist Licensure Examination in 2026.
