Bohol gears up for a month-long celebration highlighting responsible rice consumption, support for local farmers, and sustainable agriculture.

This was after the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under the leadership of Gov. Aris Aumentado, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture 7 (DA-7), conducted the 2026 NRAM Coordination Meeting on August 27 at Reynas the Haven and Gardens, Tagbilaran City.

The meeting gathered DA-7 Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Coordinators (PATCO) and the Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS), National Food Authority (NFA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), National Irrigation Administration-Bohol (NIA-Bohol), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) to synchronize resources, workforce, and activities for the November celebration.

Planned activities include the Bohol Rice Festival, the launch and opening of the Rice Museum, a Rice Symposium and Feeding and Experiential Learning, Practice for the Rice Pledge, Young Farmers’ Big Day, the RICEponsible Fun Run, a Sales Conference, and information campaigns.

Moreover, PhilRice presented its RICEponsible Everyday Campaign, promoting rice conservation, local rice purchasing, and healthier rice choices.

The annual celebration supports the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap’s whole-of-government approach, bringing agencies and communities together to advance food security and sustainable agriculture.

As a UNESCO Global Geopark, Bohol continues to promote development that values its people, natural resources, and agricultural heritage.

The BISU Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI) participated in the Capacity-Building Training on Market Scoping, Pricing, and Costing organized by VSU-RAISE 8 ATBI, in collaboration with PhilRootcrops, BISU ATBI-Bilar Campus, and PNB-KGB Multipurpose Cooperative.

The activity aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of market opportunities, pricing strategies, and costing to support sustainable enterprise development and the commercialization of Agri-Aqua technologies.

Special thanks to the BISU-Bilar Campus Resource Persons, Ms. Marcelina S. Butlig and Ms. Michel L. Limbago for Market Scoping, and Ms. Daffodil S. Tampus for Pricing and Costing, for sharing their valuable expertise and insights during the training.

The BISU ATBI also extends its appreciation to VSU-RAISE 8 ATBI and PhilRootcrops for the invitation and for providing the RAISE 7 ATBI with an opportunity to participate and share knowledge and expertise in the activity.
