We are proud to share that Ms. Jenifer Marie M. Gasatan, a faculty member of the College of Business and Management, served as a Resource Speaker 🎤 at the DA AMAS AgriBiz Youth Summit held on April 25, 2026 📅, at the Ayala Malls, Manila Bay.

As one of our dynamic faculty members and a driving force behind innovative agri-based technologies 🚜, she shared valuable insights as a TechGen advocate, highlighting her work, including the development of Ube Wine 🍠🍷 as a product of creativity, research, and local resource innovation.

The DOST-PCAARRD Technology Transfer and Promotion Division (TTPD), together with the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) and the SGF Batch 4 Startups, traveled to Balilihan, Bohol, for a site visit to GreenGardens of Hope Agriventures Inc.

The visit, hosted by Mr. Emmanuel Gamonez, served as a live showcase of sustainable innovations in action. The group witnessed the practical application of biochar-enriched fertilizer and explored how these science-based solutions are transforming organic farming on the ground.

The future of Agri-Aqua is bright (and green)!

A new wave of innovation is here! The DOST-PCAARRD, through its Technology Transfer and Promotion Division (TTPD), in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI), warmly welcomed the 4th batch of grantees during their Inception Meeting at the Belian Hotel, Tagbilaran City.

This milestone is a significant step for the agri-aqua startup ecosystem. We are especially proud to highlight Mr. Emmanuel Gamonez, a dedicated incubatee from the BISU ATBI, who is among this elite group of startups granted the SGF!

This collaboration continues to bridge the gap between research and the market, empowering local entrepreneurs to scale their science-based solutions. 💡🌱

The 2-Day Terminal Review of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Central Visayas was conducted at Holy Name University, bringing together representatives from participating institutions including Bohol Island State University, Cebu Technological University, Cebu Institute of Technology – University, and Negros Oriental State University to present program accomplishments, outputs, and impacts.

The review was led by Noel A. Catibog, Director of the Technology Commercialization Section, under the overall leadership of Angeline B. Elegio of Bohol Island State University. The activity also served as a platform to discuss strategies and target deliverables for the proposed Phase 2 of the program.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍: The Technology Commercialization Section led by Dir. Noel A. Catibog conducted the Terminal Review of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) program in Central Visayas under the overall leadership of Dr. Angeline B. Elegio of Bohol Island State University (BISU).

Hosted by Holy Name University (HNU), it was attended by University President Fr. Ruel F. Lero who warmly welcomed the participants and CVAARRDEC Consortium Director Dr. Ivy Corazon A. Mangaya-ay who underscored the importance of collaboration. Participating institutions include Cebu Technological University (CTU), Cebu Institute of Technology – University (CIT-U), and Negros Oriental State University (NOrSU).

In his message, Dir. Catibog challenged the teams to effectively present outputs and impact to provide a compelling basis for continued support for Phase 2, particularly in light of current global developments and funding priorities that require the funding agency to carefully allocate resources.

A forward planning session is being conducted today, March 17, to strategize for the next steps and target deliverables for the proposed Phase 2 of the program.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖: DOST PCAARRD, through the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program Batch 2 Phase 1, concludes its two-year duration with a Terminal Review on February 26, 2026 in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The activity highlights the program’s accomplishments over the past two years vis-à-vis its targets/deliverables. The event also provides a platform to discuss challenges encountered during program implementation as well as future plans of the program.
Participating in the activity are RAISE program teams from Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, Western Mindanao, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga.
A proposal packaging workshop will also be conducted tomorrow, February 27 to strategize and plan for the target deliverables of the next phase of the program.
