NKTI is now limiting walk-in admissions as it operates at full bed capacity amid a surge in leptospirosis cases.

Nakakalungkot isipin: pagkatapos ng baha, hindi pala natatapos ang problema.

May mga taong lumulusong sa maruming tubig dahil wala silang choice. May nagkakasakit. May pamilyang nag-aalala. May ospital na napupuno.

At mapapaisip ka:

Kung ang bawat pisong inilaan para sa flood control ay talagang napunta sa maayos, matibay at epektibong proyekto, ilan kaya sa mga Pilipinong ito ang hindi sana kinailangang lumusong sa baha? Ilan kaya ang hindi sana nagkasakit?

Hindi natin maaaring sabihing flood-control failures lamang ang sanhi ng bawat kaso ng leptospirosis. Pero malinaw ang koneksyon ng baha sa panganib: exposure to contaminated floodwater is one of the ways people contract the disease.

Kaya sa sinumang mapapatunayang nagnakaw, nag-overprice, nagpalusot ng substandard project, o kumita mula sa pondong dapat sana’y nagpoprotekta sa mamamayan:

Sana habang nakikita ninyo ang mga pasyenteng ito, maalala ninyo kung para kanino talaga ang perang bayan.

Ang corruption ay hindi lang numero sa COA report.
Hindi lang anomalya sa kontrata.
Hindi lang headline.

Kapag ang pondong para sa proteksyon ng tao ay ninakaw, may totoong Pilipinong maaaring magbayad ng presyo—sa bahay, kabuhayan, kalusugan, at minsan, buhay.

Public service should never become private profit.

Panagutin ang mapapatunayang responsable. Ayusin ang flood-control system. At siguraduhing bawat pisong galing sa bayan ay bumabalik sa bayan.

AI can write captions, generate images, analyze data, automate campaigns, and produce content faster than ever.

But does that mean digital marketers will become irrelevant?

I don’t think so.

The tools are changing. The value of human judgment is not.

AI can generate options, but someone still needs to decide: What problem are we solving? Who are we trying to reach? And why should the market care?

Marketing is ultimately about humans. Their motivations, frustrations, aspirations, culture and behavior cannot simply be reduced to prompts and analytics.

💡 3. CREATIVE DIRECTION
Generating content is becoming easier. Knowing what is worth creating becomes more valuable.

AI can help tell a story—but marketers must understand what the brand should stand for, how it should sound and why people should remember it.

Hindi lahat ng paglayo kay Lord nagsisimula sa malaking pagkakamali.
Minsan, dahan-dahan lang tayong nagdi-drift—hanggang hindi na natin napapansin kung saan na tayo papunta.

Ito ang tumatak sa akin sa devotion today.

Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”

Napaisip ako: baka hindi lang dapat ang tanong ay, “May ginagawa ba akong mali?” Mas mahalagang itanong minsan, “Kung ipagpapatuloy ko itong pattern ng buhay ko, saan ako dadalhin nito?”

Because what we repeatedly allow into our hearts eventually affects our direction.

What we watch.
What we listen to.
The conversations we entertain.
The resentment we keep feeding.
The compromises we keep explaining.
Even the ambitions we refuse to surrender.

Isaiah 53 reminds me why I need grace in the first place: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way.” Jesus did not come because we already knew how to find our own way back. We needed a Savior.

Kaya today, God reminded me that guarding my heart is not about becoming self-righteous or afraid of everything around me. It is about recognizing how easily I can choose my own way instead of His.

And 2 John adds another important balance: walk in truth and love. Hindi truth na walang grace, at hindi rin love na kino-compromise ang truth.

Maybe I don’t need to fix everything about myself today.

Maybe I simply need to identify one area where I am drifting—and take one obedient step back toward Christ.

Less self-direction.
Less compromise.
More truth.
More love.
More Jesus.

LISTENING IS ALSO LEADERSHIP.

One reminder from today’s CBMC International Monday Manna really stayed with me: Sometimes leadership is not about having the best answer in the room. It’s about making someone feel that they have truly been heard.

In a world where everyone seems ready to respond, react, comment, and give an opinion, deep listening has become a leadership discipline.

Jesus modeled this beautifully. He listened without immediately interrupting. He asked questions instead of simply assuming. He noticed not only people’s words, but also their pain, fears, frustrations, and deeper needs. And when He responded, He responded with both grace and truth.

That’s something worth bringing into our workplaces, businesses, ministries, homes, and relationships.

As leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs, maybe we should ask ourselves:

When someone is speaking, am I really listening—or am I already preparing my reply?

“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” — James 1:19

Leadership isn’t always demonstrated by who speaks the most. Sometimes, it’s demonstrated by who listens well enough to make others feel seen, understood, and valued.

📖 DEVOTION | August 23, 2026

HINDI AKO NAKALIMUTAN NG DIYOS. KAYA HINDI KO KAILANGANG MAGMADALI.

Ito ang pinaka-tumatak sa akin sa devotion ko today.

Minsan kapag matagal ang sagot, tahimik ang season, o hindi pa natin nakikita kung saan papunta ang lahat, pumapasok ang tanong:

“Lord, naalala Mo pa ba ako?”

Maybe we don’t say it aloud, pero minsan ganito ang kilos natin.

We rush.

We force doors.

We compare our progress with others.

We become anxious kapag feeling natin nauunahan na tayo.

But in Isaiah 49, sinabi ng Israel:

“The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

And God’s answer was beautiful:

“I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” — Isaiah 49:15–16

That spoke deeply to me.

Delay is not proof that God has forgotten me.

Hindi dahil tahimik ngayon, absent na si Lord.

Hindi dahil may pinto na nagsara, wala nang susunod.

Hindi dahil hindi ko pa nakikita ang buong direction, wala nang direction.

Sometimes God is already working on things I cannot see yet.

So maybe I don’t have to keep proving that I still matter.

I am already known. Already seen. Already remembered by God.

Then 1 John 5 challenged my definition of victory.

“This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”

Our culture usually defines winning through numbers:

Income.
Position.
Followers.
Awards.
Influence.
Growth.

And these can be good things.

But Scripture reminded me:

What good is winning publicly if I have to lose myself spiritually to get there?

I don’t want to call something a blessing if getting it requires me to compromise my faith, character, peace, or integrity.

Maybe real victory is simpler:

To remain faithful when compromise would have been easier.

To keep trusting when the answer is delayed.

To still choose what is right even when nobody rewards it.

That’s victory too.

Then Psalm 103 gave me another reminder:

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

Ang bilis nating makalimot.

One unanswered prayer can sometimes make us forget ten prayers God already answered.

One disappointment can become so loud that we forget years of grace.

So today, instead of asking immediately:

“Lord, ano pa ang ibibigay Mo?”

Maybe I should first remember:

“Lord, ano na ba ang ginawa Mo?”

The people He sent.

The doors He opened.

The doors He closed for my protection.

The provision.

The forgiveness.

The second chances.

The strength I didn’t know I had.

The grace that carried me through seasons I thought I wouldn’t survive.

Gratitude changes perspective.

It doesn’t deny what is difficult.

It simply refuses to let today’s difficulty erase yesterday’s faithfulness.

And finally, Proverbs 4 reminded me:

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

I’m learning that direction matters more than speed.

Hindi lahat ng mabilis ay progress.

You can move fast and still be going the wrong way.

And sometimes you can move slowly but be exactly where God wants you to be.

So maybe the better question isn’t:

“Gaano kabilis akong makakarating?”

But:

“Tama ba ang direksyong tinatahak ko?”

Because I’d rather arrive later with my faith, character, and peace intact than arrive quickly somewhere God never asked me to go.

🙏 TODAY’S PRAYER

Lord, thank You because You have not forgotten me.

Kapag matagal ang sagot, remind me that silence doesn’t mean absence.

Kapag hindi malinaw ang next chapter, keep me from forcing doors You haven’t opened.

Redefine victory in my heart.

Huwag Mong hayaang ang success, recognition, money, position, or influence ang maging sukatan ng worth ko.

Let faithfulness matter more.

And Lord, teach me to remember.

Kapag may isang problemang sobrang ingay, remind me of Your long history of faithfulness in my life.

Thank You for every answered prayer, every protection, every provision, every lesson, every person You used, and every grace I didn’t deserve.

Finally, guide my path.

I don’t need to move the fastest.

I just want to keep moving in the right direction—with You.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏

You don’t have to be the fastest person on the road. You just need to make sure you’re walking the right road with God.
