WEEKEND The Local Government Unit of Panglao marked another milestone in strengthening its disaster preparedness, emergency response, and public service delivery through the blessing of its newly acquired emergency and service assets, officiated by Rev. Fr. Nilo Batausa, Parish Priest.
The ceremony included the blessing of eight (including the two new water response assets, one (1) garbage collector boat, one (1) Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) response truck, and one (1) Rural Health Unit (RHU) service vehicle. These acquisitions form part of the Municipality's continuing efforts to enhance its operational capability in serving both residents and visitors.
Municipal Mayor Hon. Capt. Edgardo "Boy" Arcay underscored the significance of the blessing as Panglao prepares for the upcoming 5150 Triathlon, one of the country's premier sporting events. He emphasized that the additional emergency response assets will strengthen the Municipality's readiness to provide immediate assistance and ensure the safety and well-being of athletes, event personnel, spectators, tourists, and the local community and further stated that these assets will not only support the successful staging of the international sporting event but will also serve as valuable resources for the Municipality's long-term emergency response operations.
The water assets, response truck, and RHU vehicle will significantly improve the LGU's capability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, disasters, maritime incidents, medical emergencies, environmental protection activities, and other situations requiring immediate government intervention.
With the presence of MDRRMO and MENRO head Mr. Abelio A. Arbilo, RHU Mun. Doctor- Dr. Jon Mark V***a together with Menro reef rangers, Bantay dagat poblacion and LDRRMO AND MENRO STAFF.
