It's getting tall my Agarwood, or aloeswood, or eaglewood, or agaru, and gaharu are all synonyms for the resinous, fragrant, and valuable heartwood of mostly Aquilaria spp. belonging to the family Thymelaeaceae.
The average yield from a single agarwood tree is about 5 kg. A 70 kg of wood only secretes about 20 ml of oil.
First-grade agarwood can cost as much as $100,000 per kilogram . Why is it so expensive? For thousands of years, agarwood has been known as "The Wood of the Gods."
