Excited ka nang magsimula ng business? Good! Pero bago ka maglabas ng capital, make sure na hindi ka nahuhulog sa mga common mistakes na ito.

1️⃣ STARTING WITH THE PRODUCT, NOT THE MARKET

“Maganda kasi ang product.”

Pero ang tanong: May bibili ba?

Before you invest, know your target market, their needs, buying behavior, and willingness to pay.

2️⃣ FOCUSING ONLY ON SALES, NOT PROFIT

Malaki ang sales ≠ malaki ang profit. 📊

Kailangan mong alam ang costing, operating expenses, pricing, at actual profit margin.

3️⃣ THINKING THAT PASSION ALONE IS ENOUGH

Passion can get you started, but a sustainable business needs planning, systems, discipline, marketing, and continuous learning.

💼 BAKIT AKO MAY TRADITIONAL AT ONLINE BUSINESS?

Chef ako. Cafe owner. Entrepreneur.

Matagal na akong nasa traditional food business. Pero habang tumatagal, na-realize ko na hindi natin alam kung ano ang mangyayari bukas.

Kaya naging open-minded ako.

Hindi ko iniwan ang traditional business ko. Nag-explore lang ako ng online business para magkaroon ng additional source of income, mas mapalakas ang financial stability, at magkaroon ng potential na makapag-build ng passive or residual income over time—depende sa business model, skills, consistency, at effort.

Sa traditional business, hands-on—may location, inventory, staff, utilities, at daily operations.

Sa online business, mas flexible at digital ang setup, at may potential na ma-reach ang market beyond your location—even globally, depende sa business model.

Pero maging clear tayo: hindi automatic at hindi easy money ang online business. Kailangan pa rin ng learning, consistency, marketing, skills, at action.

Kaya para sa akin…

👩🏻‍🍳💼 12 YEARS IN THE FOOD BUSINESS TAUGHT ME THESE 5 LESSONS

When I started my journey as a chef and cafe owner, I thought having a good product and serving good food would be enough.

But after years of running a food business, I learned that building a business is very different from simply knowing how to cook.

Here are 5 lessons my journey taught me:

1️⃣ A GOOD PRODUCT IS NOT ENOUGH.
You can have great food, but you still need the right market, location, pricing, and marketing strategy.

2️⃣ KNOW YOUR NUMBERS. 📊
Sales are not the same as profit. You need to understand your costs, pricing, expenses, and cash flow.

3️⃣ YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR BUSINESS. ❤️
Good food may bring customers in, but good service and a great experience can make them come back.

4️⃣ SYSTEMS MATTER. ⚙️
A business should not depend on one person alone. Good systems help your business run more consistently and efficiently.

5️⃣ KEEP LEARNING AND ADAPTING. 🚀
What worked years ago may not work the same way today. As entrepreneurs, we have to stay open-minded, learn new things, and be willing to evolve.

After years in the food business, one thing became clear to me:

Being an entrepreneur is not just about knowing how to sell. It’s about knowing how to adapt, solve problems, make better decisions, and keep growing.

And that’s one of the reasons I continue to explore different businesses, learn new skills, and share what I’ve learned along the way.

👩🏻‍🍳☕ I started as a chef and cafe owner. Then I learned to think beyond just one source of income.

As an entrepreneur, I’ve always believed in building what I know—our cafe, our food business, and the things I’ve worked hard for over the years.

But along the way, I realized something:

Hindi pala kailangan na isang pagkakakitaan lang ang pinagtutuunan mo.

Being an entrepreneur taught me to become more open-minded. I explored online business, learned new skills, met different people, and discovered opportunities beyond the traditional business I already knew. 💻✨

Hindi ibig sabihin na iiwan mo ang existing business mo.

Sometimes, it means adding another path—another skill, another opportunity, another source of income.
