We asked the HR Manager of this company (Executive Collection and Credit Management Services) why they chose to focus on Leadership training for their employees out of all the training topics they could provide. We identified three reasons for this choice: First, leadership is one of the most challenging competencies to acquire. Second, the company needs a steady bench of skilled leader-managers for their succession planning. Lastly, as Dr. John Maxwell said, an organization falls and rises on leadership.
But why do Leadership and Management go together? American researcher Michael Maccoby argued that leadership is a "relationship" between leader and followers, while "management" is a function that must be carried out in any business organization through planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. In today's complex world, it is hard to see how a manager could be effective without the use of both sets of attributes and abilities. While it is possible to be an effective manager without exercising leadership, effective managers are able to apply both the technology of management and practice the art of leadership.

The recent Solidarity/Team Building and Planning Workshop held on April 6, 2024, at TimMel Farm Beach, Lagonglong Misamis Oriental for MOGCHS Batch '76 was a resounding success!
