If you need to be seen every time you sacrifice, you’re not leading — you’re performing. The leaders who go the furthest are the ones who learned to serve without a scorecard.

There’s a misconception that if you’re "doing it right," ministry should be smooth sailing. But the truth? The more you care, the more difficult rooms you’ll likely find yourself in.

Jesus didn’t just teach the crowds; He sat with the broken, the outcasts, and the conflicted in places that were far from comfortable. If the "job" feels heavy today, take heart. You are walking the path of the Great Shepherd. Take a breath, lean on His strength, and keep showing up.

He’s also glorified in your willingness.

Insecurity in a leader doesn’t just affect the leader. It can affect the whole team. The higher you go, the more expensive it gets.

Insecure leaders make reactive decisions.

They shrink rooms instead of expanding them.

They protect their ego instead of developing their people.

This isn’t a leadership strategy problem… It’s a heart problem.

The good news? This is fixable. But it doesn’t fix itself.

Get in front of somebody you trust, do the inner work, and watch what happens!!

Most leaders don’t fail because they lacked opportunity. They failed because they kept thinking small in the middle of a big assignment. Your thinking sets the ceiling before anyone else does. Raise it.

There is a version of your ministry—and a version of you—that can only be unlocked through a holy risk.

If we stay in the boat, we’ll never know what it feels like to walk on the water. 'Safe' feels good, but 'safe' rarely leads to transformation. Don't let the fear of a mistake rob you of the miracle of a step of faith.

To the leader standing on the edge of a big decision: if He called you to it, He will sustain you through it. Move forward today. Your future self will thank you for the courage you show right now.

In a world that celebrates the 'platform' and the 'performance,' it’s easy to feel like our greatest value is found in our talent. But the longer I do this, the more I realize that people don't follow a speech; they follow a shepherd.

The best pastors I know aren't necessarily the ones with the most polished sermons or the largest following. They are the ones who show up when it’s inconvenient—in the hospital room at 2:00 AM, at the coffee shop for a broken heart, or in the messy, unglamorous moments of people's lives.

Your presence is a more powerful sermon than your preaching will ever be. Thank you for staying close to the sheep, even when it’s hard. You are making a difference.

I've seen it in churches across multiple countries.
Free groceries. Scholarships. Giveaways tied to attendance.
The heart behind it is good. But the result is often the same — people who show up for the benefit, not the Jesus.
Are we making disciples or consumers?

Wrote about it here 👇

Stop using free stuff to grow your church. Learn why incentives backfire—and what actually makes real disciples.

The best leaders I know aren’t the ones who have to be the smartest person in the room. They’re the ones who build a room where everybody gets to show up and lead. They’re not threatened by talented people — they’re energized by them.

So if you’re planting or pastoring and you feel like everyone around you is more gifted than you… good. You’re right where you’re supposed to be. Now get out of their way and let them do what God put them there to do.

One of the hardest shifts to make in leadership is moving from a desire for approval to a commitment to affection.

If we lead because we need to be liked, we will eventually compromise our calling to keep the peace. We’ll avoid the hard truths and the difficult conversations because we’re afraid of rejection. But true pastoring is a lopsided kind of love—it’s the willingness to pour out your heart, your time, and your energy even when it isn't reciprocated or understood.

Our goal isn't to be the most popular person in the room; it’s to be the most faithful. Today, if you feel unappreciated or overlooked, remember that your reward isn't found in the 'likes' of people, but in the 'well done' of the Father. Keep loving anyway. It’s worth it.

The problem isn’t your situation.
It’s the script in your head.

You’ve rehearsed doubt long enough.

So… Change the script…. Speak truth.

Move.
