JUST IN: Cainta, Rizal-DOLE-Rizal Provincial Office (DOLE-Rizal) awards livelihood aid amounting to PhP 476,544.00 to Morong Rizal Transport Service Cooperative (MRTSC), a new Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) of the Department, April 7.
MRTSC plans to use the livelihood grant to form a motorcycle/PUV repair and spare parts business for them to have an alternative source of income since the ongoing pandemic and the big oil price hike affect their operations.
During the briefing, Provincial Director, Marivic B. Martinez reminded the representatives of MRTSC that the Department only wants to see their cooperative grow.
“Alam po ninyo na grants ito, wala po kayong obligasyon na bayaran o ibalik sa amin [yung pera]. Ang kabayaran lang po na hinihiling namin is tuloy-tuloy at mapaunlad ang inyong kooperatiba,” Martinez said.
Martinez along with Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, Victoria Natanauan turn-over the cheque to representatives of MRTSC. Livelihood Development Specialist Marecris Agasid also assisted them during the awarding.
MRTSC Chairman Nelson Alejandro, General Manager Joyce Alejandro, and Board of Director Billy Francisco received the cheque and the necessary documents from the Department.
MRTSC Chairman Nelson Alejandro extends his gratitude to Department for accommodating their livelihood request.
"Nagpapasalamat po kami na sa kabila po ng pandemya at sa kasalukuyan po nating kinahaharap ngayon na mayroon pong mga ganitong tulong, kagaya po ng DOLE, sa gobyerno, para po sa amin na nasa laylayan ng lipunan. Maraming-maraming salamat po at makakaasa po kayo na ito’y aming pagyayamanin,”
Under the DOLE-Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), ACPs like cooperatives, unions, associations, people’s/workers’ organizations, business associations, church-based organizations, educational institution or private foundations could request fund allocation from the government to implement livelihood programs or projects for their respective groups. The ACPs should also have at least 20% counterpart on the total budgetary requirements of their projects.
