On May 14th 2008, 19 year old, Brandon Swanson was driving home from a friends house when he drove his car off the road and into a ditch. Brandon called his parents just before 2am and told them that he knew where he was and that he wasn't very far from their home.

Brandon's parents drove to the location Brandon had described but couldn't find him. Both Brandon and his parents started to flash the lights of their cars but neither saw the flashing lights.

Brandon decided to start walking towards a town saying to his parents that he could see lights in the distance.

He also told his father to head for a parking lot of a local bar and wait for him there.
