I know how tough it was last year. The Philippines’ unemployment rate may have looked low at 3.8%, but for fresh graduates, it told a different story. By July, when they all started applying, it jumped to 4.7% — and almost half of the unemployed were young people.

I get it. You submit resumes, but companies still ask for so many requirements — valid IDs, barangay clearances, NBI, even work experience you don’t have yet, at syempre di ka makakapasok kung walang backer. Nakaka-frustrate, right?

That’s why I always tell fresh grads: don’t just sit and wait. You can start freelancing or working as a Virtual Assistant. It’s a way to earn money, gain experience, and build skills while waiting for that “dream job.”
