We had no internet connection yesterday, so I took it as an opportunity to re-read one of my go-to books - "The Stress Cure" by Linda Evans Shepherd.
"If you have stress, that means you're not trusting God."
I remember when I started reading this book, and I read this quote - I couldn't understand it at first. It is impossible not to be stressed. There is a lot of factors that are causing it.
Before, when I feel stressed and tired, I would stress myself more by comparing my life to others or thinking about why I need to experience something I didn't ask. But after reading this book, it gave me a new perspective. Whenever I face difficulty, I am now reminded of how I lack faith in God. As a Christian, I am supposed to trust that God is in control - that whatever happens and how it happened are because of God's will, and there is always a solution to everything. So now, when I feel stressed or depressed, it's like a wake-up call to me that I need to feed myself spiritually as well.
I am so glad I read this book. It completely changed my life. How about you? What are the books you have read, and how it changed your life? :)
