To assess whether your resume is instantly communicating "who you are", test-drive it with several friends or colleagues. Hand them your resume, wait five seconds, and sn**ch it back. Than ask them, "OK, who am I? What do you know about me from my resume?" Keep in mind, there is not a single "recipe" for creating a great resume, and not every recommendation will be right for your specific circumstances. You'll need to evaluate the options, match up the strategy to your situation and the facts of your career, and make the choices that will allow you to best present your capabilities and value to a potential employer.

Resume Tip #5: When employers read your resume, you want them immediately to perceive that you have the right blend of skills and experience for the job they are filling. To get this reaction your resume must contain the same words employers use to search for candidates. Without these keywords, you won't make it past the automatic resume scanners, and you won't strike the right chord with human viewers, either. :)
