The Department of Environment and Natural Resources through its Biodiversity Corridor Project successfully conducted a Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprise (BDFE) Profiling and Assessment among various Peopleโ€™s Organizations (POs) in Barangays Adlay and Dahican, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. The initiative was supported by CTP Construction and Mining Corporation through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).

The activity aimed to evaluate and recognize community-based organizations that actively promote sustainable livelihood practices while contributing to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection within their respective communities.

During the assessment, representatives from DENR Caraga assessed the organizationsโ€™ operational practices, environmental initiatives, sustainability programs, and compliance with the standards of Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises. The activity also highlighted the importance of strengthening local organizations in managing natural resources responsibly while creating sustainable economic opportunities for community members.

Based on the results of the profiling and assessment, five Peopleโ€™s Organizations were found eligible for BDFE recognition. These include the Adlay Integrated Bamboo Growers Organization(AIBGO), Dahican Integrated Bamboo Planters Organization (DIBPO), Nagkahiusang Kababayin-an Nan Dahican Organization (NKDO), Dahican Agri-fishery Integrated Association (DAGFINTEGRAS) and the Adlay Integrated Social Forestry Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative (ADISFFAMCO).

The recognition of these organizations as eligible BDFEs reflects their commitment to implementing environmentally sustainable and biodiversity-friendly enterprises that help protect natural ecosystems while improving the socio-economic condition of local communities.

CTPCMC through its SDMP, continues to support community-based environmental and livelihood initiatives aligned with sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. The company emphasized that empowering Peopleโ€™s Organizations through capacity-building programs and environmental partnerships contributes significantly to long-term community resilience and ecological sustainability.

The collaboration between DENR Caraga, local organizations, and CTPCMC demonstrates a shared commitment to fostering sustainable enterprises that balance environmental stewardship and inclusive community development in Surigao del Sur.

CTP Construction and Mining Corporation, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross โ€“ Surigao del Sur Chapter, successfully facilitated a Blood Donation Activity on May 5, 2026, bringing together CTPCMC employees, CTPSLC employees and valued service contractors for one life-saving mission.

Through this collective act of compassion, 51 bags of blood were donatedโ€”51 powerful gifts of hope for those in need.

The Dahican Integrated Bamboo Planters Organization (DIBPO) takes a significant step toward strengthening its operations and organizational capacity by participating in a Pre-Membership Orientation Seminar (PMOS) facilitated by key government agencies.

The activity is conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office, the Department of Agriculture (DA) of the Municipality of Carrascal, and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The seminar aims to equip members with essential knowledge on cooperative principles, organizational management, and sustainable enterprise development.

During the orientation, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of cooperative formation, including membersโ€™ roles and responsibilities, governance structures, and financial management. The initiative also highlights the importance of compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes best practices in building a resilient and community-driven organization.

As part of its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, CTP Construction and Mining Corporation (CTPCMC), through its Fuel, Oil, and Lubricants Section, conducted a specialized training session on April 23, 2026, in collaboration with representatives from Petron.

The training was facilitated by Petron experts ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€, ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น ๐—ง๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ผ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜, who provided in-depth discussions on proper tank truck receiving procedures and the latest updates on lubricants.

The session aimed to enhance the technical competencies of personnel involved in fuel and lubricant operations. Participants gained valuable insights into industry best practices, with emphasis on strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The training also highlighted the importance of risk management, spill prevention measures, and accurate documentation and monitoring during receiving operations.
