Ultimate Eliquid Brewing guide
for TESTING here's what you're going to need.
10ml bottle
syringe (preferably with elongated spouts)
for bulk mixing here's what you're gonna need
a lot of beakers/measuring pitchers for each component
*plastic is fine and never interchange the measuring apparatus with other ingredients other than the one it was designated for*
a 1liter pitcher with sealable lid to mix everything in.
* make sure that your hand can touch the bottom of the pitcher as it would make transfering easier.*
Testing phase
example recipe: minty strawberry banana
you will use:
10ml bottle
syringes
ingredients:
-strawberry concentrate
-Banana concentrate
-ethyl maltol (flavor enhancer)
-sweetener
-sour (optional)
-Vegetable glycerine (VG)
-Propylene glycol (PG) *these two will be your base.
Procedure:
1. first, you need to check how the flavors would play out without wasting
too much flavor concentrates. you can do this by dropping equal proportions of
flavor concentrates on a small strip of paper let's just say 1 drop for each.
that way you would be able to distinguish which flavor is more prominent
and which is more subtle. if you want to balance it out just take note
of the proportions that you used
(eg. 1 banana : 2strawberry or 1 banana : 3strawberry and so forth. unit here is in drops)
2. now that we got that out of the way, we'll now try that and make our
own test ejuice. assuming you have your 10ml bottle ready. we will first put
our flavor concentrates in it using the proportions that we used from step one.
in this recipe we will use 3banana:7strawberry or 30%banana and 70% strawberry in our flavor mix.
*important* the basic mix for flavor concentrates per formulation of ejuice is 10% or 1ml/10ml,
but some flavors are too strong that when used as a single flavor when making your ejuice 5% is enough
and when mixed with other flavors, a few 4-8 drops are only needed.
grab a syring for each flavor used and make sure they are labeled with
the corresponding flavor. take out .7ml of strawberry and .3ml of banana
and put them both in the bottle. set aside those syringes your done with them.
3. now, you get to choose which enhancers you are going to use.
reminder: use a different syringe for each ingredient
Sweetener- Sweeteners are particularly a core ingredient in most mixes
as they make the juice sweeter for the tounge rather than a little bitter.
you might confuse this with the flavors making it sweeter but the flavors play
a different part when it comes to sweetening or adding flavor(we'll discuss this later.)
There are two kinds of sweeteners currently used in the
euice industry, one is organic which we sell and the other
is sucralose.
organic sweetener- this vg based sweetener is 300 times sweeter
than table sugar, has a characteristic brownish
color. you need to put at least 1ml of this in your mix.
sucralose- this pg based sweetener is an artificial sweetener
that is up to times sweeter than table sugar. it has
a clear color. it is a whole lot more expensive than organic
but you only need to put at least .5ml of it in your mix.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED USE
organic- use at least 1ml/10ml 10%
sucralose- use at least .5ml/10ml 5%
-----------------------------------------------------------------
*FACT*flavors are actually targeting our olfactory senses rather than our toungue
since the toungue can only detect 4 known tastes which are salty, bitter, sweet and sour.
while it's olfactory counterpart can detect tens of thousands of different smells.
this is how flavor works.
Tart and sour (pg based)- making your juice sour is ideal when you're mixes are fruity to compliment it's sweetness
use at least 1ml of this pg based product in your mixes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED USE
Tart and Sour -1ml
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Ethyl Maltol (PG based)- this is a very subtle but effective enhancer and works over time
in enhancing the flavors. it has a slight cotton candy aroma.
what's special about this is that it makes your juice smell
a little sweeter. you can call it as another sweetener but
it does not have any sweet taste in the toungue.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED USE
ethyl maltol- .3-.5ml
-----------------------------------------------------------------
4.Ni****ne 60mg (PG based)- Please be aware that the toxicity level of ni****ne is
twice as poisonous than cyanide so, you really need to be
careful with this stuff. keep it away from everyone.
*the lethal dosage in skin contact is 100mg-200mg so 2-4ml of
of this on your skin would not make anyone happy. (use gloves!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED USE
ni****ne 60mg nic/10ml
low 6mg-1ml
medium 12mg-2ml
ni****ne 100mg/10ml
low 5mg-.5ml
medium- 10mg- 1ml
-----------------------------------------------------------------
4.after using the enhancers that you need it's time to fill it up to 10ml with PG and VG.
Propylene glycol- this, when used more than vg in your mix would make bring out the flavors more
but produces a very light v***r that easily vanishes. use lesser than VG. only use
USP(US pharma) grade propylene glycol anything less pure than usp could be harmful)
Vegetable glycerine- A rather thick liquid and denser than PG it produces more v***r but carries less
flavor than PG. use more than PG.
*it is imperative that you already have a premade PG/VG mix in your desired proportions.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED proportions
60%VG/40%pg solution -if you did not use any enhancers that are PG based.
70%vg/40%VG solution -if you used a lot of enhancers that are PG based
*for testing, you can have some premade on 10ml or 30ml bottles.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
5.now that you're almost done, you have the option to mentholate your juice.
Menthol drops- this is very sensitive stuff, this can easily ruin your juice if you use too
much.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
RECOMMENDED USE/10ml
Menthol drops
low- 4 drops
medium- 8 drops
high- 12 drops
your juice is probably ruined- 16+drops
* i know it's going to be hard controlling the menthol amount when it hits
mass production. a good way to work around this issue is to count how many drops it takes
to make 1 ml you can do this on a syringe with the injector taken out and drop it from there
with the tip of the syringe sealed. after counting how many drops (eg. 54 drops to 1 ml)
you can divide it by the drops needed
lets say we just need medium strength for 10ml :
we just divide 1ml/54drops=0.018 or 0.02 now lets say were gonna use medium strength on 100ml:
10ml/54= 0.18ml or 0.2ml
and so on... but we're still on the testing phase so just get back to this portion when you proceed with mass production
-----------------------------------------------------------------
6.Steeping- Now that you got your juice completed. it's time to shake it.
after shaking for a few seconds leave it for a few 6-8 hours.
(although you can also test it right after you shake it.)
7.make sure that the recipe for that test juice is written down and label them. just a reminder.
