COREnergy Partnership
To Energize Mabuhay Towers
Leading real estate, hospitality, and manufacturing firm The BE Group of Companies has formalized a partnership with COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy, to power and actively manage the energy requirements of its Mabuhay Towers in Cebu Business Park and Cebu IT Park.
Located in two of the country’s fastest-growing business districts, Mabuhay Towers benefits from the continued expansion of the IT-BPM sector, driving increased demand for reliable, cost-efficient power to support round-the-clock operations.
Through its transition to COREnergy under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework, The BE Group gains access to a more strategic approach to energy management. This includes improved cost predictability, customized solutions, and optimized operational performance.
COREnergy’s “gentailer” model enables it to align power supply with customer demand while helping shield partners from market volatility.
“As a homegrown company, we seek partners who understand the kind of growth we envision for Cebu. COREnergy brings strong technical expertise in retail electricity supply and shares our commitment to the region’s progress. This gives us confidence that the partnership will help us manage energy more strategically while supporting our long-term developments,” said Grand Benedicto, President and CEO of The BE Group of Companies.
“Businesses today no longer see power as a fixed monthly expense. With the Power of Choice, they can structure how energy supports their operations, whether for cost management, performance optimization, or scalability,” said Marko Sarmiento, SAVP and Head of Sales at COREnergy.
“We are privileged to partner with a fellow Cebu-grown company, The BE Group, as they rethink their energy strategy in line with the region’s rapid economic growth,” he added.
The partnership comes as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) moves to lower the contestability threshold to 100 kW by June 2026, expanding access to retail electricity supply for more commercial establishments. For COREnergy, this development reflects a broader shift, with businesses increasingly viewing energy as a strategic tool for managing costs and driving performance.
