3 Lessons He Learned As A Small Boy
When Bene was 5, he wanted to buy a Power Rangers robot.
While in a toy store, the little tyke asked me, โDad, will you buy it for me?โ
I smiled, โBene, you need to earn money to buy that.โ
โHow?โ he asked.
I said, โSet up a business. What can you sell?โ
His face lit up. โIโll sell Bangus! (milkfish)โ
At that time, my friend Pio was a distributor. I said, โGo for it!โ
When he arrived home, he wrote a โprospectโ list: โLola Linda, Ninong Robee, Cousin Deniseโฆโ and 7 other family members.
Meanwhile, I printed a leaflet of the Bangus products from Pio.
Bene put on a yellow necktie and wore it over his sando and shorts, and with leaflets in hand, he rode his little three-wheel bike to his Lolaโs house, gave the leaflet to her, and said, โCall me anytime!โ
For the next few days, my son kept giving his leaflets away.
In a few weeks, he sold P10k worth of Bangus.
Bene tithed, gave alms to the poor, and bought his Power Rangers toy. He was so happy.๐
3 lessons he learned from that experience:
1)ย ย ย In the real world, you donโt get toys for free, you earn them.
2)ย ย ย Thereโs no shame in sellingโitโs a way to serve others.
3)ย ย ย You can earn money if you focus on your goals.
ย
Iโm writing this today because itโs Beneโs birthday today.๐๐
Bene, you're not selling Bangus anymore, but youโre still serving with all your heart, helping
a lot of young people in your ministry and work.๐ฅ
Iโm so proud of you, son.
I love you.โค๏ธ
