IntSaf are currently recruiting a Safety Officer for a demolition project in Cebu with one of our clients.
If you think you have the skills & experience, send us an email with your updated CV.
3 month Project with possible extension.
Must be BOSH/COSH trained
Must have experience in demolition.
Minimum 5 years as a Safety Officer/Supervisor.
Prefer Bisaya speaker with good English skills.
Must be comfortable working with Senior Management and writing reports.
You will:
- work with IntSaf staff, Client Project Management Team and contractors
- provide health & safety advice & recommendations for improving methodologies/procedures
- ensure implementation of safety procedures and policies
- conduct daily site inspections, including inspecting harnesses & lifelines
- communicate with workers for any observations immediately
participate in daily Toolbox Meetings
- review & discuss serious hazards for the daily job and provide advice on controls
- follow up with all work permits including WAH, lifting, scaffolding, Confined Space
- perform other H&S tasks as required
- plan and facilitate emergency response drills such as Fire, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Medical and First Aid during the duration of the project and shall participate in (and lead, if necessary) actual emergency response.
- conduct 8hr COSH training as required
- work 6 days/week

Amazon pledges to implement measures to improve workplace safety...
38,334 injuries in Amazon facilities in 2021, or an injury rate of 7.7 per 100 Amazon warehouse workers.
According to this article, OSHA attributed the high rate of injuries at Amazon warehouses to the company's high pace of work and "monitoring and discipline systems."
34,001 (89%) of the injuries were classified as either light duty or lost time injuries, which puts Amazon's serious injury rate at double non-Amazon warehouse figures.

Have you checked your fire suppression systems recently?
Fire in Holcim US Whitehall plant.
Early reports indicate no injuries from the fire which started in the alternative fuels section and firefighters aided by a fire suppression system quickly brought the fire under control.

The blaze struck the alternative fuels system at the Lehigh River-side plant.
