CTU–Tuburan Kicks Off ATBI Incubation 2026: Empowering Agri-Aqua Entrepreneurs in Tuburan

By: Hazel Anne Milano, ATBI/Fab Lab On-the-Job Trainee

Cebu Technological University – Tuburan Campus officially launched the Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (ATBI) Season today, February 20, 2026, at the CTU-TC ATBI/Fab Lab—marking the beginning of a purposeful initiative aimed at empowering local agri-aqua entrepreneurs to build and incubate their startup businesses. This first session sets the tone for a series of learning engagements designed to guide participants throughout their entrepreneurial journey. Farmers and fisherfolks from different barangays across Tuburan, Cebu joined the session, as they openly shared their struggles, experiences, and future plans, creating a meaningful exchange of ideas grounded in real-life challenges and aspirations. Guiding the participants is the dedicated support of the Local Government Unit of Tuburan through the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), ensuring that community needs and local development priorities remain central to the program.

The session was enriched by Engr. Naomi A. Bajao and Mr. Siegfried D. Mendoza, who generously shared their expertise and insights on the startup journey. Engr. Bajao emphasized innovation rooted in real community needs, while Mr. Mendoza highlighted perseverance, adaptability, and continuous learning as keys to success. Participants were also introduced to the core objectives of the ATBI program, focusing on strengthening entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing technical and business skills, and fostering collaboration. The exchange of ideas among participants further reinforced the value of shared learning and community support. The ATBI initiative reflects CTU–Tuburan’s commitment to empowering communities by bridging academic knowledge with practical application. As the program continues, incubatees will engage in sessions guiding them from ideation to commercialization and market readiness. The opening session has laid a strong and inspiring foundation for the journey ahead.
