This is going to be a sad post. It’s a coming of age post. My first venture into the Philippines came around 2011 it was right around the time I met my late wife and also the co-founder of AD ACCESS WORLDWIDE PRODUCTIONS or AD ACCESS VER 1.0. The venture into the Philippines started with 20 pesos in my pocket and just cold referalls.
Proud to say, at the PEAK of the business we had a waiting list of clients for 2 years. I was travelling weekly from Cebu to all over . Dumaguete, Leyte, Bohol, Cagayan De Oro.. all the Bisaya speaking territories, because Mai was fiercely Bisaya, something that we fought over because it’s not good for business growth.
As I left the Philippines in 2019 after she passed we bought our dream car, lived in our dream house and had our dream office. But dreams have a nasty habit of ending once you wake up.
And wake up I did to the reality of single fatherhood. I let go most of my clients but kept a few who still wanted me around, but as it is, things end and one must move on. I couldn’t bear to leave my son behind for weeks on end and I think the clients needed more of me than I could give now that I am both mom and dad to my boy.
So the difficult decision to leave the Philippines as a whole came about and I pack up my last few coaching calls as I make my exit, 12 years to the date I first started. I teach in my workshops that the sun takes 12 years to go around the galaxy, and if one can maintain their relationship and life balance for 12 years it’s the most stable grounds of life you will face.
Now as I get ready for my next galaxy adventure I want to leave by saying goodbye Philippines, good bye Cebu. You have taught me plenty and gave me plenty.
I would like to especially thank a few individuals who have been more than just clients and colleagues and trainees, you have made the journey so much more meaningful.
Ave Eragan the protege of my late wife, I have seen this young man grow into the awesome leader he has become, thank you for your generosity and loyalty. More is waiting for you in this life.
Abi Flores a wonderful and inspiring young woman who showed me and still is proving that when all is gone you can still win in life.
Dennis Mackun for being the best client and a wonderful friend. I am glad that your business is thriving and wish for you to attain your dreams.
Jurin Platil Otapil my wonderful and loyal secretary. I will definitely keep you around for as long as you would want . Great things will come to you.
Jo Ann Perez Jayme my wife’s friend who served me to her very best upon her passing. I will always remember the kindness she showed during those trying times
Ar Lix @ Yani who continued to show her generosity after my consultation with her ended by helping me out with my daughter.
Ryan Expeditus C. Andales and Iris Vera who were there in the very beginning as me and mai were starting out. Those early days would have been impossible without the kindness of these 2 wonderful human beings.
Hermito Misola my personal trainer , all time best superstar who changed my whole approach to fitness and health and Bibi my coach who gave me my health as I struggled with back pain for years. God bless you always.
And last but not least John Robert and Jilly Enriquez the salsa king and queen of cebu, these 2 people came in as I was rediscovering my passions and I am so grateful they were able to ignite that passion again within me.
“In the end all that’s is waiting for us in the end is the Journey and NOT the Destination “
