🌍✨ Empowering Change: Integrating SRG's 7 Pillars with the Sustainable Development Goals ✨🌍

We recently concluded an inspiring session of Thursdays with SRG 2026 - 2nd Run, focusing on the Program Development and Management Pillar. Here are some key takeaways that highlight our commitment to creating impactful change:

1. Filipino Diaspora Engagement: With over 14 million Filipinos worldwide, the diaspora represents a tremendous opportunity for social capital. Collaborating with organizations like Gaudete Global can help us connect with these vibrant communities and harness their faith, culture, and mission.
2. Challenges for Small-Scale Fishermen: Our small-scale fishermen face critical challenges, including high mortality rates due to inadequate vessels. The Neobanka project aims to provide modern, safe, and environmentally friendly boats to enhance their livelihoods and ensure their safety at sea.
3. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Connection: Dr. Glenda Antonio emphasized the need to align our program development with the SDGs. By leveraging technology and collaboration, we can maximize our impact and contribute to a sustainable future.
4. Comprehensive Support for Fisher Folks: Addressing the needs of fisher folks requires a holistic approach. We must tackle food security, environmental sustainability, and market access while developing sustainable livelihood programs to support their communities.
5. Ecosystem of Collaboration: The session highlighted the importance of working together as an ecosystem. We encourage PDOs to collaborate with strategic partners like Gaudete Global and Merivium Cares to effectively address community needs and enhance our overall impact.

🌟 Empowering Change: Integrating SRG's 7 Pillars with the Sustainable Development Goals 🌟

We just wrapped up an inspiring session of Thursdays with SRG 2026 - 2nd Run, focusing on the Leadership and Governance pillar! Here are some key takeaways that highlight the impactful discussions:

♻️ Waste Management and Circular Economy: The CIRCULA Program is tackling the pressing issue of waste management in Cebu City by promoting a circular economy. This initiative not only reduces landfill dependency but also empowers women economically through composting.

🌍 SDG Alignment and Participatory Governance: We emphasized the importance of aligning our initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering participatory governance. Leadership must occur at multiple levels to ensure community involvement and collective impact.

📚 Empowerment through Education and Skills Development: The CIRCULA initiative goes beyond composting by providing training in financial management, cooperative development, and personal growth for women, showcasing the vital role of education in sustainable development.

🤝 Collaboration Over Silos: Dr. Glenda highlighted the necessity for Philanthropic Development Offices (PDOs) across the Philippines to collaborate rather than work in isolation. Together, we can amplify our impact and leverage existing resources within our ecosystem.

🔄 Leadership Mindset Shift: Effective leadership requires a shift from short-term solutions to addressing systemic issues. Leaders should empower others, promote transparent governance, and integrate SDG principles into strategic decisions for long-term sustainability and resilience.

We encourage all participants to share their feedback by filling out our evaluation form: https://bit.ly/TwSRGEvaluationForm2026.

Today, we celebrate the first hearts who taught us how to care.

To the mothers who nurture quietly, love endlessly, and give without measure—
your impact goes far beyond what words can express.

You are the ones who shape compassion,
who inspire kindness,
and who build the foundations of a better world—one life at a time.

Behind every act of goodness, there is often a mother who believed first.

This Mother’s Day, we honor your strength, your sacrifice, and your unwavering love.
You are, and will always be, the heart of every meaningful change.
