SLU Launches ISO 21001:2018 EOMS Project
Saint Louis University (SLU) kicked off its ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) project on January 14-15, 2025, at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, SLU Main Campus. The meeting, organized by the SLU Office of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance, marks SLU’s shift from ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) to the educationally focused ISO 21001:2018.
The event was attended by the SLU Management Team, Heads of Offices, and 74 Internal Quality Auditors (IQAs). SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, highlighted the University's commitment to continuous growth, urging faculty and staff to foster an environment dedicated to excellence.
OIDQA Director Hector L. Martin noted that the transition reflects SLU's focus on improving educational processes and meeting global quality standards. The two-day event featured ISO training by consultants from the AGF Consulting Group, led by Jong Fernandez, principal consultant, including sessions on EOMS requirements and documented information.
This transition aligns with SLU’s Strategic Direction Goal 2, enhancing its quality management system to better address the needs of students, faculty, and stakeholders. ISO 21001:2018 is tailored for educational institutions, focusing on learner development, organizational effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
