DANICA TEVES is a testament to the fact that leadership and creativity know no bounds. Her journey in movement began in her early school days, building a foundation through years of school dance clubs and intensive workshops. As a consistent Pop Jazz leader in high school and a scholar for her university’s dance troupe, she developed the technical discipline and stage presence that define her work today.

In her professional life, she is a powerhouse in the tech industry, serving as an Application Developer Team Lead with over a decade of experience. Though her dance journey took a brief pause to focus on her career, the fire never went out. She eventually founded a dance club within her company, reigniting a passion that led her to Knapsack. In a remarkable display of dedication, she transitioned from student to Knapsack Dancer within just one year, eventually stepping into her role as a Coach.

Internationally, her work with the Knapsack Dancers has earned prestigious recognition at the Powerful Daegu Festival in South Korea. In 2025, she was part of the ensemble that secured 3rd Place and received the Global Excellence Award, marking a significant milestone in her global dance career.

While she began her coaching path guiding the next generation in Kids' classes, her expertise has since expanded to leading PPOP, Choreo, and Femme classes. Her coaching style reflects her unique journey—blending the precision of a veteran developer with the expressive, bold energy of the Femme and PPOP genres.

Her story is a reminder to every woman that your "prime" is whenever you decide it is. As a mother and a tech leader who took her dance career to the next level at age 30, she embodies the spirit of Women’s Month—proving that it is never too late to reclaim your passion and lead with grace, whether you are managing a dev team or commanding the dance floor.

Women's Month: reclaim your power through dance.
