What if one startup inspires the next one?🤔💭

In this episode of Stellar Friends, we sat down with our friends from DOST Region VII, Dr. Tristan and Sir Rino, to talk about startups, innovation, and why building more startups matters.

Because startups don’t just build products.

They solve problems. They challenge how things are done. And sometimes, they give someone else the confidence to think:

“Wait… maybe I can build something too.”

For Central Visayas, more startups could mean more ideas turning into real solutions, and more people seeing that innovation can start right where they are.

For Stellar to Watch, we gave The Social Network a 75/100 real story score.

Some of the drama was made for Hollywood. 🎬 But the conflict at the center of it raises questions every startup should probably answer early:

Who owns what?
Who is responsible for what?
Who gets to make which decisions?

When you’re just starting, these conversations can feel a little too serious for where you’re at.

You’re busy building the product. Talking to customers. Trying to get something off the ground.

But startups grow. Teams change. Priorities shift.

And the things you leave unclear at the beginning can become much bigger problems later.

So while you’re building the startup, don’t forget to build the agreement around it too.

Your friends might tell you your idea is amazing. Your tita might tell you to get a real job.✌️😬

Either way, neither is enough to tell you if you should build it.

That’s where validation comes in.

Talk to the people who actually have the problem. Ask how they’re dealing with it now. Listen for the frustrations that keep coming up.

Because compliments feel good.

Patterns tell you what to build.👀

Sometimes, your own idea isn’t the only good idea in the room.🚀

That was one of the biggest lessons the UniDeals team took from the StellarPH Acceleration Program.

When you’re building something, it’s easy to get attached to what you think is right. But listening to feedback can help you see things you might have missed.

And sometimes, you just have to put the ego aside and listen.

Because your idea might be great. But someone else’s perspective might help make it better.

A startup ecosystem doesn’t grow because of startups alone.💜

It takes founders willing to build.

Investors willing to back ideas.

Universities developing talent.

Communities creating connections and opportunities.

And when those pieces start working together, things move.

Ideas get tested. Companies grow. Jobs are created. Knowledge gets shared. And one founder’s progress can inspire someone else to start.

You can find a lot of answers online. Building alone is another story. 🚀

For the Kontak App team, one of the most valuable parts of the StellarPH Acceleration Program was meeting other founders and realizing that they weren’t the only ones figuring things out.

Because sometimes, what you need isn’t another article, video, or podcast.

It’s a room full of people who are building too.

People with different problems, different experiences, and probably a few of the same struggles.

That sense of community, combined with the guidance and support throughout the program, became one of the biggest parts of the journey for the Kontak team.

We’re glad to have had Kontak App in Cohort 1. 💜🚀

Can AI replace a developer?🤔💭

AI can write code. Find bugs. Generate tests. And take repetitive tasks off a developer’s plate.

Cool.

But building software is more than typing code into an editor.

It’s understanding the problem before solving it. Making decisions when there isn’t one obvious answer. Working through trade-offs. And figuring out why something that should work… doesn’t.✨
