Innovation has no age limit—and it certainly doesn't require a computer science degree. 💡

At the 45th All Aboard! Startup Cebu Mixer, we're excited to showcase MyLolaWorks, an opportunity platform connecting active older adults and seniors with nearby, flexible work opportunities.

Meet Engr. Ma. Teresa Barola, co-founder of MyLolaWorks. A retired university professor who spent more than 25 years teaching Chemistry and Physics to engineering students, she has also built and managed businesses across beauty, internet cafes, real estate, and distribution.

And here's what makes her story especially inspiring: she doesn't consider herself "techy." Instead, she uses no-code platforms, simple digital tools, and practical AI to turn ideas into solutions.

Her journey is a reminder that innovation is not reserved for tech experts, young founders, or software developers. Sometimes, it starts with experience, curiosity, a problem worth solving, and the willingness to try something new. 🌱

⚖️ Atty. Kara Marie Angela R. Bagunas-Recentes is a tax and corporate lawyer with SGV, a member firm of Ernst & Young (EY). She has also represented the Philippines in regional digital rights symposia and brings valuable perspectives on navigating compliance while preparing businesses for sustainable growth.

Kenneth Varona is the Managing Partner of Hourani & Varona Law Office and has advised startups, organizations, and international clients on corporate governance, contracts, labor, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
