“Empowering Local Community-Level Actions through Sustainable Health Care Solutions”

Velez College Research Office invites faculty members, students, researchers, and interested members of the academic community to participate in the Research Institutional Grant Presentation 2026 on September 04, 2026.

This activity provides an opportunity for research proponents to present innovative and community-responsive research concepts focused on sustainable health care solutions and long-term community impact.

📌 PRESENTATION MECHANICS & GUIDELINES

🔹 15-minute presentation per group/college department
🔹 Use the provided PowerPoint Presentation Template
🔹 Submit the Research Concept Paper using the provided template
🔹 Review the Mechanics, Guidelines, and Criteria for Evaluation before the presentation
🔹 5-minute Q&A and comments will follow each presentation
🔹 Comments and recommendations will be documented through the Velez College Research Office Compliance/Revision Matrix

🤝 Strengthening Research Ethics Through Collaboration

The Cebu Normal University (CNU) Ethics Research Committee (ERC), through the Office of the President, conducted a benchmarking initiative with the Velez College Ethics Research Committee (ERC), a PHREB Level 2-accredited ethics review committee, under the leadership of Dr. Ulysses Cutamora, Velez ERC Chairman.

The benchmarking initiative focused on key areas essential to strengthening research ethics and governance:

🔹 Strengthening ethics review procedures
🔹 Accreditation and quality assurance
🔹 ERC management, organizational structure, and operations
🔹 Compliance with national and international standards

Velez College Research Office and CNU continue to foster a strong partnership in advancing high-quality, ethical, and globally competitive research. Through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement, we work together toward building a stronger research and ethics ecosystem in the Philippines. 🇵🇭🌏

🏸 Dr Suwanna Silpa-Archa, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, chaired the Thailand National Network meeting and workshop. She told attendees: "This network represents an important opportunity to bring together organisations from across sport, education, justice, health and community sectors around a shared commitment to supporting young people."

🏀 Representatives from health, sport, education, justice, policing and international organisations came together in Hanoi for the second meeting of the Vietnam National Network. The meeting was co-chaired by Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Sports Authority.
