Mandani Bay’s story is rooted in Cebu’s rich history

The development’s name traces its origin back to the 1500s, when Europeans first came to Cebu and Venetian scholar Antonio Pigafetta arrived in the island with Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan.

In his book, “First Voyage Around the World”, Pigafetta wrote of a chieftain named Apo Noan from a settlement called “Mandani” – the same land known today as the City of Mandaue.
