The 2023 Express Entry report from IRCC highlights a significant rise in Invitations to Apply (ITAs), with over 110,000 issued, marking more than a twofold increase compared to 2022. This growth is largely due to the implementation of category-based selection, which prioritized certain professions and language skills.
The majority of ITAs were allocated under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), followed by the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) saw very few ITAs issued. The report also indicates that a greater number of ITAs were awarded to men than women, and occupations in the tech sector, such as software engineering and development, were particularly successful.
In terms of geography, the majority of recipients were already living in Canada, with India being the top source country by nationality
