TMC Donates ₱953K Worth of Indigenous Seedlings to DepEd Surigao del Norte

In another partnership aimed at advancing environmental conservation and sustainable development, Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) turned over 79,435 indigenous forest tree seedlings valued at ₱953,220.00 to the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Surigao del Norte in support of Project One Million Trees under Regional Memorandum No. 0035, s. 2026.

The turnover was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) during the 2026 Division Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program held at San Francisco National High School. The initiative strengthens the collaboration between TMC and DepEd in promoting environmental stewardship while creating a lasting legacy for future generations. The MOA was signed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V, and TMC Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer–Resident Mine Manager Engr. Artemio E. Valeroso. Under the agreement, the donated seedlings will be distributed, planted, and monitored by DepEd and its partner schools and communities.

Held under the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program gathered education officials, local government representatives, volunteers, and stakeholders in support of quality education and environmental sustainability.

Region 8 mining watchdogs visit TMC 👀⛏️💚

We are pleased to welcome onsite members of the Multipartite Monitoring Team (MMT) and Mine Rehabilitation Fund Committee (MRFC) of Region VIII for a mine and community tour to provide them a firsthand look at TMC’s mining operations, environmental protection and rehabilitation initiatives, and community development programs. 🥰

For the mine tour, the teams visited TMC's Umahan sa Minahan, Converyor Belt System, Rock Garden, Mines View Deck, Botanic Garden, Lantaw Bay Garden, and Biodiversity Area.

For the community tour, the group visited projects such as the CAFSIA forest seedlings and pineapple plantation, Taganito National High School new campus, CREMACO Rice Mill Complex and TACPECCO water refilling station.

Through shared experiences and meaningful conversations on the ground, the visit highlighted our shared commitment to responsible mining and sustainable development. 🌱

TMC, Service Contractors, and Community Unite for Coastal Clean-Up

In celebration of World Ocean Month, Taganito Mining Corporation together with its company contractors and community representatives conducted a coastal clean-up activity despite the intense heat of the sun. United by their shared love for the ocean, volunteers worked side by side along the shoreline to help protect and preserve the coastal environment. The activity showcased the strong partnership among TMC, its contractors, and the local community in promoting environmental awareness and responsible stewardship of marine resources.

During the clean-up, participants collected various plastic wastes such as bottles, wrappers, sachets, and other debris that contribute heavily to ocean pollution. These wastes pose serious threats to marine biodiversity, coral reefs, and coastal ecosystems when improperly disposed of. Through this initiative, TMC and its partners continue to encourage the importance of waste management, environmental responsibility, and community participation in safeguarding the ocean for future generations.
