TMC Donates ₱953K Worth of Indigenous Seedlings to DepEd Surigao del Norte
In another partnership aimed at advancing environmental conservation and sustainable development, Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) turned over 79,435 indigenous forest tree seedlings valued at ₱953,220.00 to the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Surigao del Norte in support of Project One Million Trees under Regional Memorandum No. 0035, s. 2026.
The turnover was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) during the 2026 Division Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program held at San Francisco National High School. The initiative strengthens the collaboration between TMC and DepEd in promoting environmental stewardship while creating a lasting legacy for future generations. The MOA was signed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V, and TMC Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer–Resident Mine Manager Engr. Artemio E. Valeroso. Under the agreement, the donated seedlings will be distributed, planted, and monitored by DepEd and its partner schools and communities.
Held under the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program gathered education officials, local government representatives, volunteers, and stakeholders in support of quality education and environmental sustainability.
