The evaluation of a job application starts as early as how well you read and understood the job post because this shows how you would be able to follow instructions.

Always include a cover letter when sending an application, be professional enough to let the recruiter know which job you are applying for and tell them why you feel you are qualified for the job.

If you do not have the skill set that the job requires but you feel that you can still effectively and efficiently do the job, you should at least mention that in your cover letter.

Feedback regarding applications can also be channeled through email especially when it is an online job, so please learn to check your email regularly.
