From training to action! 🧴✨

On April 16, 2026, we returned to Poblacion 9, Cotabato City to distribute Dishwashing Liquid Starter Kits to 25 dedicated residents—small business owners running sari-sari stores, karinderyas, and Maguindanaon delicacies.

Each beneficiary received a complete set of ingredients plus 30 pet bottles to jumpstart their new livelihood.

This initiative builds on their earlier skills training and is made possible through collaboration with the Barangay LGU of Poblacion 9, led by Barangay Chairman Mohamad Ali G. Mohammad and Cotabato State University (CSU) intern students.

From Bubbles to Business! 🧼✨ The City Investment and Promotion Office, in collaboration with Social Work interns from Cotabato State University, conducted a Livelihood Skills Training on Dishwashing Liquid last March 24, 2026, at Purok Hidaya, Poblacion 9, Cotabato City, benefiting members of the local association.

The training equipped participants with the Entrepreneurial Mindset, Costing and Pricing, and a hands-on demonstration on properly making dishwashing liquid.

The 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 turns river grass into high-quality bags and baskets, showcasing Cotabato City’s natural resources while generating sustainable income for its members.

The 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 transforms the traditional inaul fabric into contemporary fashion pieces—malong, blazers, shawls, and tubao—bringing Mindanao’s heritage to a wider market.

Having previously benefited from the 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 project in partnership with 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, their continued recognition reflects the city's dedication to sustained support for women’s economic empowerment.

𝐆𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐈 𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐌𝐘

On November 12, 2025, a collaborative session was conducted to analyze the intersection of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) with Circular Economy principles.

This productive activity, held in partnership with 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐢𝐝, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and the 𝐎𝐂𝐌-𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, featured three key presentations. These included:

1. Orientation on Circular Economy and plastic circularity by Engr. Hassan Maguindra
2. Overview of GEDSI key concepts by Anne Michelle Villareal
3. Understanding Circular Economy Concepts and Integration of Disability Inclusion Principles by Atty. Ronaldo Gutierrez

The session facilitated a fruitful discussion, establishing a foundational understanding to ensure that future circular economy initiatives are designed to be equitable and inclusive in Cotabato City.

𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 | 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 6, 2025

The Bouquet and Lei Making workshop was successfully conducted on November 6, 2025, by the OCM-Investment Promotion Division at the OCM-IPD Training Room. The event aimed to enhance the creativity and skills of out-of-school youth and students, and it was attended by 15 enthusiastic participants. The workshop featured resource persons Ms. Princess Sharina Mudzol and Ms. Roneta Calibo, from Cotabato Floral Touch, for bouquet making, and Ms. Rodja Abas for lei making. Participants included individuals from various organizations, such as out-of-school youth, students from Rosary Heights 8, representatives from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the City Tourism Office, and the Local Youth Development Office.

The Dishwashing Liquid Making Activity was successfully conducted today, October 8, 2025, at the Barangay Hall of Mother Barangay Tamontaka, Cotabato City. The activity was organized by the Office of the City Mayor – Investment Promotion Division in collaboration with the Social Work Interns of Coland Systems Technology, Inc. (CSTI).

One of the highlights of the activity was the presence of Hon. Hesham Amilil, 1st Kagawad of Mother Barangay Tamontaka, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging participants to venture into dishwashing liquid production as an easy, affordable, and income-generating livelihood opportunity.

The training included a lecture on Entrepreneurial Mindsetting, followed by the demonstration on Dishwashing Liquid Making led by Mr. Al Rasheed Sapto, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of the OCM–Investment Promotion Division. Ms. Crizaldy Ayob, OTOP Technical Staff, discussed costing and pricing strategies, which participants later applied to their finished products.

A total of 25 participants, composed of 24 females and 1 male, all of whom are parents of Out-of-School Youths from Mother Barangay Tamontaka and Mother Barangay Rosary Heights, took part in the activity.

The training aimed to promote practical livelihood skills and entrepreneurial knowledge among participants to support sustainable income generation for their families.

The Livelihood Skills Training on Car Shampoo Making was held on October 2, 2025, at the Learning Center, Mother Barangay Bagua, Cotabato City. The activity was organized by the Office of the City Mayor–Investment Promotion Division, in partnership with the Social Work Interns of Coland Systems Technology Inc. (CSTI), and was participated in by members of the Badjao Parents Community of MB Bagua. The activity featured a brief session on Entrepreneurial Mind setting, followed by a hands-on demonstration on Dishwashing Liquid Making facilitated by Mr. Al Rasheed Sapto, Sr. Trade & Industry Development Specialist. Ms. Crizaldy Ayob, OTOP Technical Staff, also shared insights on Costing and Pricing, which the participants applied to the finished product. A total of 20 participants—18 females and 2 males—actively engaged in the training.

The Office of the City Mayor – Investment Promotion Division, in collaboration with the Social Work Interns of Coland Systems Technology Inc. (CSTI), successfully conducted a Sustainable Livelihood Training on Dishwashing Liquid Making on September 23, 2025, at the Covered Court, RH11, Cotabato City.

A total of 25 participants attended the activity, composed of 22 wives of farmers (Female) and 3 farmers (Male). The training aimed to promote livelihood opportunities and enhance entrepreneurial capabilities among the participants.

The session began with a lecture on Entrepreneurial Mind setting, preparing participants to embrace small business ventures with a positive and goal-oriented perspective. This was followed by a step-by-step demonstration on Dishwashing Liquid Making facilitated by Mr. Al Rasheed Sapto, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of the OCM-Investment Promotion Division. To complement the technical aspect, Ms. Crizaldy Ayob, OTOP Technical Staff, discussed costing and pricing strategies to guide participants in managing production costs and setting competitive prices.

The activity concluded successfully, equipping attendees with both practical skills and business knowledge that can help them generate sustainable income and support their families.

NDVHS Students Nagpresenta ng Limang Proyekto, Kakandidato sa Innovation Financing ng Cotabato City LGU

Cotabato City – Ipinakita ng mga estudyante ng Notre Dame Village National High School (NDVHS) ang kanilang husay sa paglikha ng makabagong solusyon sa pamamagitan ng presentasyon ng limang proyekto ngayong araw Oktubre 7, 2025. Layunin ng mga ideyang ito na makatulong sa pagsugpo ng mga suliranin sa basura, kalinisan, at sustenableng pamumuhay.

Tatlo pang iba’t ibang proyekto na nakatuon sa kalinisan, disiplina, at paglinang ng teknolohiyang angkop sa komunidad.

Ang presentasyon ay isinagawa kasabay ng pagpapatupad ng Innovation Financing Program: Support to Research and Development Projects ng City Government of Cotabato sa ilalim ng Investment Promotion Division (IPD).

Sa nasabing programa, hinihikayat ang mga kabataang imbentor na lumikha ng solusyon para sa mga pangunahing isyu gaya ng:
-Garbage control at waste management solutions
-Plastic disposal at recycling technologies
-Mga kasangkapang agrikultural para sa mga magsasaka
-Mga makinarya at inobasyon para sa mga MSMEs

Ang mga mapipiling proyekto ay makatatanggap ng grant seed funding mula ₱20,000 hanggang ₱30,000, libreng IPOPHIL training para sa patent at copyright registration, LGU mentorship at tulong sa project scaling, at public recognition bilang opisyal na kontribusyon sa inobasyon ng Cotabato City.

Inaasahan na ang limang proyektong ipinakita ng NDVHS ay magiging inspirasyon para sa iba pang paaralan sa Cotabato City na magtaguyod ng mga makabuluhang ideya tungo sa isang mas malinis, organisado, at maunlad na komunidad.
