Are you interested in how to become a virtual assistant but don't know how to start?
Like you, I have the same question before starting my VA journey.
So, I giving you a few tips on how I am able to start even without a VA experience. I hope it will help you too.
Know or pick your niche - you should know your strengths or expertise to help your clients. Once you know your niche, it's easy to find clients and adapt to their environment. After you identify, enhancing your skills and never stopping learning will help you to be an all-around person, which can not only help you obtain a higher rate but have more opportunities to find a client. If you don't know yet what you really like your previous job or experience can also be your temporary niche to start with. For example, you are good at writing, graphic design or website design use it as your niche.
Join Facebook communities - Why do you join those communities? You should because it can be your target market and a perfect place to sell your expertise and at the same time you learn and gain knowledge from your co-VA or freelancers. Makes sure that the community that you joining is the same as your niche. Ex. If you are a web developer you should join a FB page or group with the same interest as yours don't waste your time joining SMM or another group because for sure you can't relate their topics and you're out of the target market but you can join freelancing communities.
Training and Improving your craft - Don't stop learning keep upskilling to be more competitive in the market. Join internships, free courses, virtual training, and boot camps some were free while some are paid. Canva and Udemy frequently give free courses. If you are interested that the client noticed you do that thing and build your portfolio, create and optimize your social media platforms especially LinkedIn.
